Fantastic word game

Metaphorically speaking a snake in the grass is a devious person who is out to trick you but you will not find people like that working at PowerWorld Industries or one of our many band camps because all of our employees and volunteers undergo an extensive background check.
 
An extensive background check is needed to weed out the undesirables but sometimes people make mistakes because, way back in the day, we almost turned away dmargalotti due to miscommunication between quadraphonic and myself.

That was one crazy week, I tell you. Almost as crazy as the week we found out Silkie wasn't a guy.
 
A pretty good idea of what I'm about is understood by all who have seen or heard Olivia Newton-John and/or Megan McCormick however if you are one of the few people on this planet who are not familiar with either of these special ladies, I suggest you do some research on your own right away.
 
Do some research on your own right away and you may find that Olivia Newton John and Megan McCormick, as beautiful as they are, are not the hot pastrami in everyone's sandwich.
 
Tasted, tried, tested and twisted, it's a respectable lunchtime special from time to time, but who knew that Hot Pastrami was also a song performed by The Dartells, as well as Joey Dee & The Starlighters.
 
A scrumptious pasta dish is something they used to force feed marathon runners before a race, but with all these constant changes in dietary recommendations, I wonder if they still do that?

Aw criminy. What did I do there? Oh too many TPS Reports to file to work on fixing that linguistic blunderbuss. At least the rules only require working off the bolded clue, not the whole tenor and timbre of the whole contribution. Good luck to the next poster though. :D
 
Anymore when I come up with a clever post for the GFW (or "Game of Fantastic Words" as few people prefer, since it is the game, and not the words, which is fantastic), I will try to resist the temptation to make the post overly long and I will also try to avoid uncommon words such as axolotl, quotidian, eleemosynary or callipygian.*

*This post of mine, of course, doesn't count---only the next ones. As for "callipygian," Let's see who comes up with a sentence for that one! ;)
 
Callipygian, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is "having shapely buttocks" and the only one around here who can be described as callipygian is Miss Silkie.
 
Sweetie Pie would be one of my favorite things to eat if I did not try to limit my sugar intake, therefore whenever I have a craving for it, I shall think of "callypgian" and the shapely buttocks of ladies on the bus.
