Fantastic word game

Follow the steps proscribed and we will end up at Page 10,000 at some point down the line.

So I'm home and I see that there is only one contribution (aside from my own this morning) all day. What's up with that??

At some point down the line, I'm going to run out of space to hang all my laundry and I'll have to start draping some shirts and pants over the fence.

Get it? By the way, "proscribe" means to prohibit. I think quad meant to say "prescribed." Maybe not, though---he's always been a bit of a rebel. :)

Greener pastures aren't always the best to run through due to all the cowpatties and horse dung.

Kenny, sorry I missed Dave & Kenny's 80s Rockfest at Illusions last night but I was in Florida. I'll make it up for it next week.

Cowpatties and horse dung were two of the names that the owner of Clem's Come-On-In Backwoods Country Diner considered using for his world-famous chiliburger topped with onion rings but he wisely decided to stick with just "Chiliburger topped with Onion Rings."

Believe me, you don't want to know what names Clem was considering calling his lemonade! :)

At some point down the line, there will be other contributors soon, at least I hope so LARR.

This line is getting hard to tow. I'm pretty sure we can't make it to 10,000 alone! But I'll try if you will!

Now I don't know which post to respond to. We've once again gotten things out of order. Mister WMC needs to hurry back from Florida and get us back on the right track---preferably not one that has a train approaching. Mister quad, you said "proscribed" instead of "prescribed" and now you've said "tow the line" instead of "toe the line." I feel bad about having to correct your grammar. At least I don't have to correct your Grampa too. Yes, I know that one was bad.

LARR, you should know by know that we don't like to see dialogue without also contributing to the game which means you've broken a cardinal rule here at TFWG (TFWG as everyone except Miss Silkie prefers) which means that, for now, you've lost your possible future Director nomination.

You could have easily done what quad has done a couple times in the last week or two and that is use both mixed-up contributions in one sentence or possibly even use TheDude Rule which is making a contribution using something else you've made up. Either way, it's SOMETHING rather than the absolutely nothing you gave us with just dialogue. I mention this during the times I post the rules when newbies show up. We are very disturbed with your ignorance of the rules, LARR. VERY disturbed. Not a good way to end my vacation. Meeting, my office, tomorrow morning, 9am.

And, by the way LARR, I also mentioned in one of the last posts on the previous page that I AM home from Florida. You aren't paying attention to anything apparently. What WILL we do with you?

You've lost your possible future Director nomination, and you corrected my grammar, but you're still all right in my book LARR.

On my last post, I checked twice. LARR's post about no one else posting was the last post. Twice. There was not a page 2919 at that time, at least on my computer.
As regards my last post forthwith, and to defensify my grammaristicality, I think "proscribed" was right. It means "written before" or "directed before" too. And I usually use "toe the line" because it comes up more often, because I have a tendency to break rules and boundaries, but I've seen "tow the line" as in fishing used before. So I flexicated my grammarisms there. Not that good at puns, but that's the way I sometimes make plays on words yo!

LARR has not responded probably because he is hanging his head in shame for not contributing while only posting dialogue.

Not contributing while only posting dialogue will get you a stern talking-to from the muckety-mucks, but in the grand scheme it's not the worst transgression in the world.

Transgression in the world of TFWG (as I prefer) doesn't look too good because you end up with timeouts and on your personnel record.

Transgression in the world (TITW as some prefer) is usually frowned upon but I'm sure there are some defiant rebel, renegade types who will probably look up to you for bucking the system and make you out to be some kind of non-conformist folk hero.

Your personnel record, especially at a ship that's run as tightly as the FWG, will typically reveal when you are some kind of non-conformist folk hero.

Hmm. Perhaps that's what makes finding a job so difficult for me. Oh well, I just did my Good Deed for the day.

Wine will be flowing and songs will be sung, and the atmosphere will be electric when 5 o'clock comes.

Those were the original lyrics Loverboy contemplated. I read it on wickypaedia.

When 5 o'clock comes and I get home from work, it's always fun to come here and see all the nasty things people have said about me, but I take all the comments with a grain of salt (or sometimes a grain of rice if I've run out of salt) because I know that I am not the only person here who has gotten confused by seeing out-of-order posts and has not known which one to respond to, and now I'm reminded me of the de-scented skunk who wandered into a courtroom and was told by the judge, "You're out of odor!"
