Fantastic word game

Summer in 1960 brought a new movie starring Elke Sommer, winter brought a new movie starring Shelley Winters, spring brought a new tv series starring Spring Byington, and autumn was when my father bought a car with an autumn-atic transmission.

See what you missed, WMC? :)

Transmission is the final link between the station and the audience, but this forum should be kept lighter.

I hope when your dad bought that car in autumn, the dealer didn't take him for a fall guy...

Burning hot Temperatures are on there way in the Central CA as we will get close to the century mark this week.

We will get close to the century mark this week and I'm thinking that this year will likely be the final year in which we two remaining survivors of the 1920 Irish War of Independence will get together for an annual reunion.

It drives me crazy when I hear weather forecasters say the temperature will "reach the century mark." A century is a hundred years, not a hundred degrees. I also hate hearing baseball announcers say a hitter is "batting a buck 50." That is an amount of money and not a batting average. And while I'm complaining, can we please stop saying that someone is "90 years young"? She's 90 years old. Thank you and good night.

An annual reunion of current and former Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as Miss Silkie knows I prefer) contributors is in the planning stages as soon as we figure out when to have it and where to have it.

I'm thinking either at quad's house or dmargalotti's house because that's about the only way we'll ever see one or the other ever again. :)

When to have it and where to have it is among the essential decisions that will need to be made during the planning of the big blowout outdoor party!

Outdoor party doings involve mosquitoes, so for anyone who is wondering why the gazebo has citronella plants hanging, lining the walkway and surrounding anything that looks like party turf, there is your answer.

This, of course, means that the frogs will also not be hanging around, since they are out where their own action is - where the mosquitoes are.

To process your application the front desk person places it in the basket on the desk of a co-worker, who then stamps it and puts it in the basket on the desk of another co-worker.

Another co-worker of mine at Co & Ce Records, the Vogues' record label in the mid-1960s, refused to cooperate with me when I suggested that the Vogues should get together with David Allen Coe to record Corrina Corrina and do commercials for Coca-Cola and Cocoa Puffs cereal and I finally raised my hands in despair and exclaimed, "Così cosà."

Flooding the dance floor with new patrons is our ultimate goal after the remodeling is done but, for tonight, come on down for some 80s Rock as Kenny and I do our thing at the soon to be new Illusions.

I swear I saw MarcB looking through the windows yesterday to check out our progress.

The soon to be new Illusions is being constructed upside down in order to enable the concept of Lionel Richie's 1986 hit Dancing On The Ceiling to become a reality.

When Kenny plays Diana Ross's Upside Down, he'll really be upside down! :)

Reality TV shows have multiplied like cockroaches, and are about as welcome.

I remember when TV critics thought "The Gong Show" was the end of the world. If they only knew...

Welcome to our newest group of lovely young library interns who spent the day acclimating themselves to the library and Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits after first receiving the customary orientation from their friendly Game Czar.

One of the highlights of my job.
