Fantastic word game

It was a big deal in 1985 when Salvador Dali offered to paint the interior walls of Dolly Parton's delicatessen in Pigeon Forge, Tennesse, and it was an even bigger deal when she decided to honor him by renaming her business the Dolly-Dali Dilly-Dally Deli.
 
Delicious lunches might be succeeded by pousse-café, which the interns can all tell you some might enjoy after coffee.
 
After coffee and good company with the lovely young library interns, I'm calling it a weekend and hope you all enjoy some time relaxing.
 
Relaxing in my favorite chair and listening to some good tunes on a quality set of headphones while posting contributions to the Fantastic Word Game is a fine way to spend some free time!

Time is money, perhaps not for everyone but it certainly turned out to be a big money-maker for Henry Luce.

Today's Fun Factoids: Henry Robinson Luce, who was born in China (where his father was a missionary), launched Time magazine in 1923. He later founded Fortune, House & Home and Sports Illustrated. Sorry about the network outage Saturday. The new circuit breaker in 137 freaked out, so it took down guvax and (I think) the PDP10. Everything is back to the way it's supposed to be, at least for the moment.

Computer networks were a thing of beauty but seeing Darth_Vader back on Radio Discussions is most truly a splendid thing to see.

Darth, so good to see you back here instead of merely on TFWG2 on the other site where we don't get as much usage or attention. I hope you are here to stay.
 
A splendid thing to see in many towns, villages and cities across the USA during the Fourth of July holiday is a grand fireworks show!

A grand fireworks show won't be on in Pendleton at the satellite campus from what I understand.

Things are really, really dry over there, even more so than in past years and there's a total fire ban in Umatilla County right now. It's because of the early spring and summer this region has had, apparently they're already having forest fires in SE Oregon. So they'll still be doing the big fourth of July to-do there as every other year, but there won't be any blowing stuff up. Interesting how that'll work out.

I'm thinking... rides and massive amounts of Orangina and deep-fried food. The campus and adjoining showgrounds together are large enough to support it. And hey, New York Seltzer! Think we can have that brought in by the 50-gallon drum?

From what I understand the seltzer can be brought in as you propose; and for coming to help in the setup of all of the TV and computer monitors which will show fireworks from all over the rest of the country, we will even give you your own air conditioned suite with your own private refrigerator stocked with plenty of Orangina, so please specify with or without pulp.

Aunt Silkie knew you would be coming along sooner or later, dear Darth. Glad you could make it.
 
With or without pulp, orange juice is still a healthful drink but for certain other things, pulp has to be included because otherwise John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman would have starred in a movie simply titled Fiction.

And every time I hear the name of producer Quentin Tarantino, I immediately think of Ambassador Trentino from the Marx Brothers' Duck Soup movie. But wait---there's more! In the Marxes' Go West film, Groucho played a character named S. Quentin Quayle. (Another connection with Tarentino!) Groucho was pretty clever in picking that name: "San Quentin quail" was a slang term for "jail bait.")
 
Mark Twain was a pen name for Samuel Clemmons, not as rumour has it, the acronym for Technology Without An Interesting Name.

As you may have seen in Zoonews, Clackamas GUPPSS has scheduled a power outage for next Tuesday morning to replace a failing HV transformer. I don't know yet if this will affect the computer centre since the notice is somewhat vague. (This may be an opportunity for installing a new breaker system in 137.) Also, shutdown(1) now does $PS when it can't shut things down cleanly. With any luck, this will help identify the cause of the persistent dirty shutdowns that have happened lately.
 
Technology without an interesting name makes it much tougher to sell.

If they had to lock down a city in New Jersey due to a disease outbreak, would that be a Trenton Quarantino?
