Fantastic word game

For assistance getting a phone number back in the day you just needed to dial 4-1-1, which was part of your phone service with the local telephone company.

Until the day is dawn, many folks will snooze and the sky will remain black.

Welcome to the Fantastic Word Game tall_guy1! Good to have you here and I hope you'll stick around for a while.

A website dedicated to telling you all about how great their service is never mentions that while the cable guy says he will be there tomorrow he doesn't show up for several weeks, and then the cable company pays you for every day the cable guy didn't show up, plus no charge for the service call.

Serves them right for advertising $85 a month for 2 years including all kinds of bells and whistles for new customers while they pee on the loyal customers and try to convince us that it's raining. A couple of free months can make up in part.

The service call has resulted in a new contributor to TFWG named tall_guy1 who will hopefully continue on with us for a very long time.

tall_guy, welcome to the Fantastic Word Game, TFWG as I and many others prefer (except for Miss Silkie). Just a couple important things to remember in our little world. When contributing, please use the full bolded clue from the previous contribution. Best thing to do would probably be to copy and paste it so that it is not inadvertently changed. And please remember to bold it. If you are unable to bold or copy and paste, you may use CAPITAL LETTERS. Also, please remember to bold your new ending contribution. Again, if you are unable to bold, you may use CAPITAL LETTERS. Any dialogue outside of the actual game contribution should be italicized. If you are unable to do that, then...ummmm....just speak really slowly. ;) We recommend that you peruse any and all of the previous 3,273 pages of TFWG to see what we do here, where we started, and where we are going.

If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to any of the Executive Board members:
WMC (me)--Game Czar
dmargalotti--International Director of Band Camp
Silkie/Miss Silkie--Head Librarian; Chief Mixologist; Director of Fun; Owner/Manager of Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits
Darth_Vader (when he's around)--Director of Internet Security
scanman--Head of Safety and Security (HOSS as some prefer)
JeffM and/or CTListener--Head of Fun and/or Interesting Factoids

Again, welcome to TFWG. Enjoy your stay, take everything with a little grain of salt, and join us on our way to 10,000 pages. :)

A very long time is what it will take us to reach 10.000 pages; being that it has taken us roughly nine years to get only a third of the way there.

Welcome aboard, tall_guy1! Hope you'll find us a fun bunch.

A position on the Executive Board can be very rich and rewarding, especially if you are the one who officially welcomes all band camp/(T)FWG newcomers who wish to participate.

Parenthetically, that seemed to be reasonable under the circumstances, since at least 90% of the world prefers just FWG.

To participate in (T)FWG as a friendly player rather than as the architect of a hostile takeover from within, this newly appointed Board member requires significant monetary compensation.

It's in the fine print of the agreement my lawyer drafted and you agreed to when I agreed to join the Board. So pay up.

Significant monetary compensation may work for you CTListener, but some of us here have been called by a higher authority and so ours is a labor of love.

Wait, what am I saying? Hey. CT can I have your lawyers name and number please?

A labor of love is what the FWG (as I prefer) is to me and, presumably, most of us who participate.

I know I'm not receiving any compensation for my participation!

Most of us who participate here do so out of a love of gamesmanship and the desire to outfox the other players.

Which does not mean watching more Fox News or wearing more fox furs, including those purchased from the now-defunct I.J. Fox, Furriers...

Most of us who participate do it for the children because, after all, we're all about the kids here at TFWG (TFWG as I and the upper 10% of society prefer).

Besides, CT, you aren't even officially the Head of Fun and/or interesting Factoids. You might only be the Assistant Head, depending on whether Jeff steps up to the plate and, today, he didn't. No fun and/or interesting factoids presented today. By either one of you. And on top of that, you are either the HEAD or Assistant HEAD, not a DIRECTOR. That's an important difference. If any of us ever gets paid for this (and I'm not saying we do and I'm not saying we don't), it's only the Directors and of course the Game Czar. I guess your lawyer missed that. :D
