This post is my 8,299th contribution to this site and so it's only fitting that I work in an obligatory reference to Megan McCormick and Olivia Newton-John.
An obligatory reference to Megan McCormick and Olivia Newton-John must be made, as they will be along to sing to dmargalotti for his 8,300th post, and Tom Selleck will put on his Magnum PI hat to confirm and certify the post as authentic and protocoligorically correct.
It's not even a word, so don't worry about it. Came from one of the hundreds of Cinderella musicals that are out there.
To confirm and certify the post as authentic and protocoligorically correct, the Board of Governors, two auditors, three Superior Court judges and a partridge in a pear tree will all review the post line by line and item by item.
Line by line and item by item, I have reached contribution number 8.300 which is impressive but I'm still trailing WMC by 1,713 posts so I'm going to have to work really hard if I want to catch up.
If it wasn't for the unexplained absence during the time I was in the company of ET and friends, I'm sure I'd be a lot closer.
Catch up night at Illusions is always a rather awesome experience, with so many new campers learning from the sages among us the real, unvarnished history of various band camps.
Made to sound or appear honest and objective was WMC's employee review of the lovely young library interns but you and I both know he was just trying to get in their good graces.
Get in their good graces is pretty easy to do because I'm a friendly, helpful and paternal Game Czar and I'm always available in case one of the lovely young library interns needs a shoulder to cry on.
Band camp is open as the early arrivals started...well....arriving...Friday morning. You all have your assignments. I'll be at the main entrance again Saturday morning and then roaming around to check on things as the day goes on. scanman, if you could please re-direct a couple members of your security team to be at the main entrance starting about 4pm Saturday afternoon. We had some issues today with the early arrivals all trying to leave at once and you know how that goes. Take two team members from the post outside Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits. That will still leave you with 1 there. Thank you.
At the end of said band camp, the winner will be given a trophy. The rest will not receive participation awards. They, like the rest of this thread, are victims of atrophy.
Someone to tell their troubles to is always on hand for the little band campers who experience home sickness and need a little extra guidance.
Obviously, the previous poster not only didn't follow any rules but is obviously acting very insincerely towards us and our little game. The best thing to do is ignore him and continue on from the previous contribution.
To succeed at having a successful band camper weekend, all hands need to be on deck (which they are), at their assigned posts, and ready and available to lend a helping hand when asked.
We are having a very successful weekend. Keep it up everyone. There will be some band campers leaving Monday morning but most will be leaving Monday afternoon/evening.
When asked to go that extra mile, everyone working here at band camp was more than willing to do whatever it took to ensure this Holiday weekend would roll along as smoothly as possible!
Possibl0e problems regarding checkin never materialized as everyone at the main entrance was well organized and all moderators and helpers thoughout band camp did what they were supposed to do.
scanman, thanks for adding the extra security at the main entrance. Let's keep it that way for the July 4th session. We'll talk next week about the take-away from Miss Silkie's security checkpoint.
They complied and the weekend was a huge success thanks to the coordinated efforts of our staff and volunteers who really did a great job all around this weekend.
Frenetic, your fantastic word of the day (or FWOD as some prefer) is an adjective meaning fast and energetic in a rather wild, uncontrolled way which is also how we describe most Saturday nights at Illusions.
