Fantastic word game

Wholesome family fun would be the name of the game if the name of the game were not Fantastic Word Game.

If the name of the game were not Fantastic Word Game (FWG in some circles) or The Fantastic Word Game (TFWG everywhere else) as we are more formally known, we probably would have to find some other worthwhile pursuit with which we could occupy our time.

Our time for the last 9+ years has been occupied by this little game of ours which keeps rolling along through changes of homes, changes of contributors, changes of rules and changes of seasons.

However, there are some things that will never change such as one sentence only contributions, topless driving, Illusions, bottled water, tasty tidbits, lovely young library interns, band camp, The Lovely Olivia, Megan, TFWG (the FWG as some but not me prefer), and the mechanical bull.

Tomorrow, Lord willing and the crick don't' rise, the latest edition of Swimming with the Fish (as opposed to sleeping with the fishes) will be available in the "Who Knew?" section of the library, complete with school schedules and pod placements, so be sure to reserve your seat and have your opera glasses ready.

A sight to see is me walking around band camp with Olivia Newton-John on one arm and Megan McCormick on the other arm.

Sadly, no one has actually seen that. Certainly not me. But I'm still hoping.

The other arm, to which the other hand is connected, was bent at the elbow to read the program while everyone missed the whole porpoise of my last post, which is sad indeed.

I guess you had to be there, and yes, I know that a porpoise is not a fish.

Indeed.com is a website often used by people who are searching for jobs but since we have very little staff turnover at our band camps and PowerWorld Industries, we never have to worry about posting job openings.

Openings for our postings and determining whether they are mediocre, good or great might depend upon the ending clue of the prior post.

The ending clue of the prior post becomes the beginning clue of the next post which then, following a single sentence structure and all rules of proper grammar, concludes with a different ending clue that in turn transitions into becoming the beginning clue of the subsequent post in a process that is repeated over and over again which is how we play The Fantastic Word Game (TFWG for most, The FWG for others).

How we play The Fantastic Word Game (TFWG for most, The FWG for others) has not changed that much over the years except that we still require contributions to be one sentence and one sentence only.

One sentence and one sentence only contributions are all that's allowed while posting multiple–sentence contributions will always and forever be considered unacceptable.

Unacceptable posts are those which violate the bold intro and outro, complete sentence and one sentence only rules, rules that nobody ever heard of, and so forth, and are usually met with a demerit from the Game Czar who then gets a tall, cool glass of lemonade from the interns while we continue on the journey to Page 10,000.

My obituary column can be found in the band camp newsletter and has traditionally honored famous band campers and mascots of days gone by, whether persons or quadrupeds, creatures with fins and gills, feathers, scales, shells or others not mentioned here.

But they are remembered one and all.
