Fantastic word game

"Expedited it by several decades" is what purpledevil left me to work with as an opening clue and since I have better things to do than sitting around here all morning trying to work that into a cohesive, coherent sentence, I'll just keep the game moving along with this somewhat less than original contribution.

This somewhat less than original contribution is pretty much where I was too, but notice that at least we gave it the team effort, unlike some whose posts we have followed, but now when they have seen themselves in the mirror they did not even try.

You will not be disappointed by the apology I offer for the poor gameplay, I can assure you.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize I had committed a foul...

I can assure you, purpledevil, that you did not commit a foul so don't be discouraged by the crying antics of some contributors.

We've all been in the position of attempting to contribute using a tricky previous ending clue. I think Miss Silkie leads the pack in providing those tricky ending clues. ;) We're just happy, purpledevil, that you are here and paying attention to the few rules we have.

And pay no mind to dmargalotti's little tantrum. He's been that way since his alien probing. You'll have to ask him about that. :)

The crying antics of some contributors (namely, me) were apparently not received as they were intended because it wasn't a complaint or tantrum as much as it was a commentary on my own inability to create something meaningful from what I had to work with but I guess tone and intent can be easily misconstrued when communicating in writing.

Tone and intent can be easily misconstrued when communicating in writing, which is a lesson we tend to learn somewhere along the way as even Sweetie Pie knows, but here at Band Camp we forgive more readily than some who pretend to go apoplectic, twist our words and act as though it is the end of the world when we hit the nail on the head, however we manage it.

So guess which of those words is the fantastic word of the day.

However we manage it, we keep TFWG moving forward one meaningful contribution at a time.

If I correctly guess the fantastic word of the day (or FWOD as some prefer), do I win a prize?

At a time when fantastic words are needed we will offer the equivalent of a surprise toy from a Cracker Jack box.

If I do say so myself, now that another weekend is upon us I am really looking forward to cranking out the hits of the 80's tomorrow night at our favorite watering hole.

Our favorite watering hole was at one time serviced by a cart jockey who, during his formative years, had a crush on the wife of the former owner.

The wife of the former owner was quite the lush, which ended up being the main reason why the favorite watering hole had to be put up for sale, much to the cart jockey's chagrin.

Had to adjust mine. Miss Silkie beat me to the punch by 2 minutes, lol.

Much to the cart jockey's chagrin, we ribbed him about his bottled water incident at the local Walmart up yonder, but he got over it, and we kept the Fantastic Word Game rolling right along as all part of the day's events.

The day's events for next Saturday, (Labor Day Weekend) include a flag raising ceremony at sunrise followed by breakfast and a welcoming ceremony in the reception tent on the front lawn for all incoming band camp students who will then be given their housing assignments for the fall semester.

We start early, so please get a good night's sleep and don't forget to set your alarms!

Housing assignments for the fall semester will probably be the same wrangling over who gets the tree house, who gets the bunk house and who gets the outhouse, but all usually calms down and they pay attention to the band camp staff when the autumn creepy crawlers and hoppers of the night converge, chirp and screech.

When the autumn creepy crawlers and hoppers of the night converge, chirp and screech, all little band campers and camperettes should be snug like a bug in a rug.

The Zika Virus isn't really given a second thought with most people down here in southeast Texas, as we've been busy battling mosquitoes carrying the West Nile Virus for many years.
