Right now the librarian and the interns are wrapping our heads around some gigolo from one of those other band camps, and his insouciant, cavalier, redundant antics.
Those are your fantastic words of the day, yes, they are.
insouciant, cavalier, redundant antics are to be expected when you work with the kind of kids we do but that's okay because most of our staff and volunteers have yet to achieve any kind of an advanced level of maturity.
An advanced level of maturity went out the window the very day that The Lovely Anyacat (TLA as most prefer) left this world and we were stuck with the immature (but occasionally amusing) antics of TheDude, LARR, MarcB, Stuart, and SKenJenningsSummers (in no particular order).
The immature (but occasionally amusing) antics of TheDude, LARR, MarcB, Stuart, and SKenJenningsSummers (in no particular order) have moved on and so have we so I think it's time that we let bygones be bygones.
The bridge across the gorge was the fastest way to get to the other side but given it's rickety construction and weathered condition, such a crossing was not completely without peril.
Without peril but with some trepidation, we head into the weekend with plans for yet another great 80s Rockfest while your friendly Game Czar plans on holding down the fort while everyone else disappears for the weekend as per usual.
As per usual, those of us who do the bulk of the heavy lifting during the week including those early morning contributions from yours truly, deserve some time away from the game on the weekend so we can spend time with loved ones and take care of that "honey do" list.
Ignored by everyone else, I will merely move us along on our journey all by myself while enjoying the fruits of our labor.
Great job by Kenny and I earlier at the new Illusions as Dave was too distracted by an unannounced appearance by The Lovely Megan to do much of anything related to the Rockfest. But he sure had no problem making waffles for her. Such an embarrassment!
Our labor will continue on Monday when everyone comes back to work to focus on band camp and the kiddies.
The Mid-Winter Band Camp Move-In (MWBCMI as most of us including even Miss Silkie prefer) starts on Tuesday and goes through Thursday. A few volunteers are needed. Sign up through the usual protocals. scanman and his team have their assignments.
Band camp and the kiddies appreciate the efforts of all of our volunteers and if you'd like to volunteer for one of our upcoming band camp sessions, please contact Miss Silkie who along with her many other responsibilities is now our Official Volunteer Coordinator (or OVC as I'm sure she prefers).
Direct management oversight is a given, not because they are incapable of working responsibly unsupervised, but considering we have a certain Game Czar who would take treats from the lounge, tell them that they are working too hard and need a break and otherwise distract, mesmerize and make them coo with glee over his stories.
His stories are not as mesmerizing as those from dmargalotti who comes back from his international band camp expeditions with all manner of stories and phone numbers.
The nightstand beside my bed is only called so because of its location, but if I decide to move it to another room it will be known as an end table or perhaps an occasional table, and who is going to be any the wiser exactly what sort of table it is these days?
