Fantastic word game

The rough streets of Suburban Philadelphia were no match for young Stuart which is why he has taken on the gritty wordiness of the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer).

Hey guys, it would be nice if you all welcomed Stuart back. I mean, really, you guys. What's happened to your manners? I'm shocked. SHOCKED, I say!!

The gritty wordiness of the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer) has hardened the hearts and hides of our contributors which is probably why common courtesy went out the window when Stuart returned like a long lost prodigal son.

Welcome back, Stuart. Although you are a returning contributor it would probably be a good idea to schedule a meeting with HR so you can get up to speed on some new policies and procedures that have been implemented over the last few years.

Long about now is where I says to WMC, "'ey, do I look like Judith Martin, or Emily Post or what?", just to let him know that I am paying attention.

Hey there, Stuart. Have a Yoo Hoo and a seat. Pretty sure the Yoo Hoos are still okay. We got them for Joey Babe, and then Joey Babe disappeared.

Paying attention to the newbies and the returning newbies is critically important because we want them to stay and play to help us get to our final distination.

Now, if only we could get andreajesus to come back again.

Our final destination may be a Socialistic society if we do not get our act together.

I have been back for 3 days now, and WMC (my idol and mentor) disappoints with distination.
I am afraid I will have to put you in touch with Mr. Allen (my high school English teacher)

Please help with my emoji question...How do you get the emojis to appear within the message?

For all of the new kids playing this game, If you would like to know why I imposed a six year punishment on myself...Please refer to pages 982 - 988 (proceed with caution, we start out playing the game, and over time the game is playing us.) I would stay up all night wondering if I used the right noun, verb, gerund, the right punctuation etc... I did not want to disappoint the founder of the game "The Dude". One day Mrs. Phyllis (my wife) told me that it was the game or her!!! I had to really think about that one for several hours. The game consumes every fiber of your being. It is all that you think about. Please do not let this happen to you. Also don't forget about my emoji question.

I feel much better now that I got that out in the open.

If we do not get our act together, the welcome back party for Stuart is going to be a colossal flop.

Allow me to welcome you back to the FWG as well!

A colossal flop is something Hollywood is all to familiar with as they've made a whole lot of really expensive movies that did not do well at the box office.

Stuart, to answer your emoji question, you can add them by clicking on the emoji icon at the top of the page next to the button that controls font color, or by clicking on one of the emojis that appear on the right-side of the text box. Hope that helps.

The box office is where we also keep our gift wrap and ribbon, so that we will have plenty for Christmas, birthday parties, anniversaries and other festive occasions of vital import.

Festive occasions of vital import at the box office are celebrated with discounted tickets for seniors, school kids, college students, and active duty military personnel.

Active duty military personnel might have to be called in to settle the question of which continuation of "festive occasions of vital import at the box office" was legitimately in play, as two clues came in about two minutes apart and dmargalotti chose to continue the later one.

BTW, not wanting to stir up anything, but I notice that our "prodigal son" affixes a partisan political tag to his posts. Is that allowed here, or is it just partisan political sentences that should be avoided?

One of our lovely young library interns has been promoted to a full time position in the media center pending approval from her supervisor, Miss Silkie, as well as the PowerWorld Board of Directors.

The PowerWorld Board of Directors has no issue with the prodigal son's political tag because it's more a Radio Discussions thing rather than a TFWG thing.

Stuart, sorry for the "distination". I was tired and didn't notice. I appoint a timeout and 6 demerits to myself. And does Mrs. Phyllis no longer have any issue with you playing the game? Or, did it take you 6 years to decide on the game rather than her? :D

A TFWG thing is to use the last boldfaced clue to start the beginning of a sentence in the next contribution.

Speaking of that, did anybody notice Stuart's clue of "another American Pie Movie" was completely skipped over?

In the next contribution, someone should mention the lovely Olivia Newton-John, Megan McCormick, topless driving, band camp, TFWG, the lovely young library interns, and WMC's Florida excursions because those are some of the staples of this game.

This game seems to be moving along rather quickly this week.

Agreed in the Fun Department on the stuart post, lest we go back several pages to point out certain allusions here and there that also went without worry or offense but was duly noted.

This week we welcomed back our friend Stuart who returned after a long 6 year absence to find that our TFWG home had changed from Radio-Info to Radio Discussions.

Stuart referenced a period from 6 years ago when he left and mentioned the page numbers. I took the liberty to dig back into the archives from that time and here is what I found:
-We were hosted by Radio-Info.com (which, and I could be wrong, preceded RadioInfo.com)
-Regular contributors included myself; dmargalotti; quadraphonic; Miss Silkie; raptusregalitur (our Director of Linguistics); an incredibly flirty andreajesus; Stuart; MarcB who introduced us to Rodent; the lovely Anyacat; and, yes, even TheDude.
-This period of time was in late 2009 (TEN years ago) as we were approaching our 3rd anniversary. We were on our Quest to Page 1,000 (seems so amateurish now) and also the 10,000th post
-TheDude returned after a long absence and didn't follow the bolding rules which caused most of us (except Stuart) to ignore the guy which caused TheDude to go on a maniacal rant to try to get RI to shut down the game. Eventually, he tried mellowing but we still pretty much ignored him and he eventually disappeared again.
-andreajesus got us over the hump to 1000 pages. The 10,000th post was recorded by....drumroll...........dmargalotti! Well done, my friend, well done. I'm sure you remember it like it was yesterday. You do, don't you?
-Stuart was right. He had a hard time following the game sometimes. At one point, he took me to task for beginning a sentence with the word 'me' as in, for example, 'me and my friend'. The word 'me' was, in fact, the ending clue from the previous contribution which is why I started a sentence (the new clue) with the word 'me'. Poor Stu. I imagine Mrs. Phyllis had quite the time with him. But I'm glad he's back. :D

And, hey everyone, Happy Weekend. As always, join us tomorrow night at the new Illusions for another great 80s Rockfest. Stuart, I'll pick you up.

Our TFWG home had changed from Radio-Info to Radio Discussions, which was something I noticed when I had to update my information.

WMC, thank you very much for the recap. I did not realize that it had been ten years!!!

Thank you scanman for pointing out the my "another American Pie movie" was skipped.
It was Miss Silkie who made the error. Although was it actually an error? You guys game me alot
of cool and nice comments this week, and I thank you for them. Maybe, Miss Silkie was feeling jealous or
left out. So............
I would like to formally suggest that next week beginning Monday, November 10th we make the entire week
about Miss Silkie.
All positive and loving comments!!!

To update my information, I accessed my profile to change certain entries and then waited for the system to do what it was supposed to do.

Now that I think about it, Stuart said he'd been gone for 6 years (and his profile did say he hadn't posted at all in 6+ years) although the period of time Stuart chose to reference was 10 years ago. So seems you were really gone from Radio-Info/RadioDiscussions for 6 years even though you referenced a time from ten years ago. Or something. Maybe you left more than once? Now I'm confused.

Miss Silkie does a great job with all the lovely young library interns and all of her other jobs. Keep in mind that she is also Director of Fun; Chief Mixologist; and Head Librarian. My funny story that I've mentioned many times before is that, for the longest time when she first came to us, we all thought she was a guy. Or, maybe she really is a guy in sheep's clothing, not that there's anything wrong with that. But it was quite a while, many moons ago, before dmargalotti and quadraphonic and I finally somehow picked up or found out she wasn't a guy. I'm going to have to assume she told us directly. dmargalotti loves that story, too. I'm sure Miss Silkie does as well. :)
