Fantastic word game

TV travel show host, Samantha Brown, was not someone I was familiar with until this moment so I'll mention someone I am familiar with and that is the very lovely Olivia Newton-John.

I am hopelessly devoted to her. :)

Get to know her is definitely something I will do because she seems like a really cool chick who might like to spend some time talking with the band campers once we are allowed to actually have band campers again down the road.

I'll call her tomorrow from my pandemically remote work-from-home Game Czar office and speak to her about a future band camp appearance or three.

Visiting with the mother-in-law typically concludes with a visit to the medicine chest in search of a dose of aspirin.

In search of a dose of aspirin over the visit to the in-laws, cotton belt was overheard singing the old Ernie K. Doe song.

The old Ernie K. Doe song, along with Samantha Brown, are now two things I was not familiar with before learning about them right here this week.

I would like to welcome cotton belt to the TFWG family. Cotton belt, we welcome you and wish you a long and productive stay. We always encourage new players to check the archives to see what we do here at the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer). You have already taken a step in the right direction. You bolded your beginning clue (which is the ending clue from the previous contribution) and you bolded your new ending clue. Well done, my friend, well done. Our only other real rule is that we ask you to keep your contribution to one sentence and one sentence only. Any dialogue outside of the game contribution should preferably be italicized. We always recommend heading into the archives (any or all of the past 3700+ pages of our game) to see where we started, where we've been, and where we are today.

Should you have any questions, please ask. The TFWG Executive Board members are:

WMC2006: Game Czar (that's me)
Miss Silkie (Silkie): Director of Fun; Chief Mixologist; Head Librarian; Owner/Manager of Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits
dmargalotti: Director of Early Morning Contributions; International Director of Band Camp
scanman: HOSS (Head of Safety and Security)

CTListener and...well....just CTListener are our other contributors.

TFWG is a division of PowerWorld LLC which is owned and operated by RadioDiscussions.com and previously owned and operated by RadioInfo and Radio-Info. A brief but now mainly defunct TFWG2 is owned by RadioInsight. RadioDiscussions owns all PowerWorld and TFWG intelligent property including PowerWorld, the Fantastic Word Game, The Fantastic Word Game, Fantastic Word Game, FWG, TFWG, the FWG, band camp, bottled water, topless driving, Illusions, the new Illusions, 80s Rockfest, mechanical bull, Megan, Olivia, TPS Reports, punnetry, Quest to 10,000 Pages, and a couple of other things I can't think of right now.

Again, welcome, take us with a grain of salt, have fun and we wish you a long and happy stay.

Right here, this week began with several businesses reopening at a reduced occupancy level, while others opted to stay closed until more time can pass.

thank you WMC2006, I mean Game Czar. I'll do my best to keep up. Onward to 10,000 pages.

In prison, many inmates are currently upset to hear that they will not be receiving any form of stimulus money from the I.R.S..

Any form of stimulus money from the I.R.S. isn't really from the I.R.S. or the government since the only money they have is that which has been collected in the form of taxes from hard-working Americans.

Welcome, cotton belt. I have a sneaking suspicion that cb might be a previous contributor who has now assumed a new identity. He seems to have mastered things right out of the gate, including our quest to reach 10,000 pages. That's a little odd for a newbie.

Hard working Americans will become significantly harder to find, if the government continues to pay out more in unemployment than the individual was previously making while gainfully employed.

my wife and I are both currently experiencing this phenomenon. Both "furloughed", both now depositing more money into the bank each week than when we were when working. America! Land of the debt.

Thank you for the warm welcome, oh gracious and kind Director of the Early Morning Contributions. Your suspicions, however, are erroneous. I read through a couple pages of the Fantastic Word Game (or TFWG, as some others prefer), thought to myself, "self, this looks like it might be fun and a good way to help keep the brain stimulated while waiting to return to work.", mustered up the confidence, and jumped right in. I'm surprised that you don't have more participants involved. It's simply a matter of incorporating sentences together to make a continuous chain. Once you guys veer into an Olivia Newtown John tangent, or Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits are served up piping hot and fresh, I may get a little lost, but I'm positive I will figure it all out as we get to those points in the game.

If the government continues to pay out more in unemployment than the individual was previously making while gainfully employed, who will use that fact as a talking point in the upcoming presidential campaign?

Olivia Newtown John? Is this some sort of new wacky Sandy Hook conspiracy theory?

The upcoming presidential campaign will leave many wondering why we don't have other options on election day.

Well thanks for addressing my suspicions, cotton. We certainly welcome you to the family and look forward to your frequent contributions. Don't worry if there are some things that you don't understand. Stick around long enough and this will all start to make sense.

Election Day may be postponed due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Ha! Chalk up the "Newtown" gaffe to an overzealous autocorrect feature. The Director of Early Morning Contributions is working into late into the early afternoon today, which forced me to rethink and resubmit my contribution, as his posted first. Getting some overtime in, dmargalotti?

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has caused all sorts of discombobulation with our clues and, as it turns out, cotton belt reversed course on his contribution while I was posting which means I then had to reverse course with my contribution and now I'm completely exhausted.

Meanwhile, I agree with dmargalotti that cotton belt COULD be a former contributor in disguise because no newbie in the history of this game has come in as seamlessly as he (or she?) has. And with comments bordering on the punnetry side of things. We'll just have to watch his or her dancing skills on the 80s Rockfest livestream. But that's ok, we'll take all the help we can get.

Possible clue: Cotton belt lists his location as the Rose Capital of the world. Google tells me that is Tyler, Texas. Do we have any former contributors from Texas?

Now I'm completely exhausted, as well, because much like the fabulous Game Czar, I have had to resubmit my contribution due to multiple simultaneous submissions, resulting in me needing a nap.

It appears that you have your first, Game Czar. I'm looking to earn one of those snazzy titles down the road, and having a good grasp on the gameplay seems like it would be a fast track in obtaining said official title. You are correct, my QTH is Tyler, Texas. Greetings from ETX! :)

Needing a nap, I will now take one, hoping fervently that our "new" poster's thoughts about postponing the election are only wishful thinking.

Your QTH, cotton belt? OK, there's a clue. How many hams (amateur radio operators) have we had here in the past?
