Fantastic word game

Playing our 80s rockfest from illusions with WMC, Dave, and Kenny, I need to inform our new friend FairBol that you must use the entire bolded ending clue from the previous contribution (in this case, Remote Control, Singled Out, Real World and Road Rules) as your new beginning clue and you must use one sentence and one sentence only.

FairBol, welcome to the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer). As I just mentioned in game play, you must use the entire bolded ending clue from the previous contribution as your new beginning clue and you must use one sentence and one sentence only. Dialogue (such as this) that is not part of the game should be italicized or somehow differentiated from gameplay. We give newbies a short grace period (yours is now over) to get acccustomed to our game play. We hope you enjoy a long and fruitful stay here and please don't hesitate to ask a question to any of the Board members or other contributors. You are invited to review any or all of our 3,883 pages to see where we started, where we've been and where we are now.

The TFWG Executive Board:

WMC2006: Game Czar
dmargalotti: Director of Early Morning Contributions; International Director of Band Camp
Miss Silkie (Silkie): (currently on semi-leave of absence for the summer) Head Librarian; Chief Mixologist; Director of Fun; Owner/Manager of Miss Silkie's Tasty Tidbits
scanman1: HOSS (Head Of Safety and Security)
Other contributors: ron; cotton belt; CTListener; Tiger Cox

Again, welcome aboard!

In keeping with our fine traditions could have two meanings, one could mean fine traditions, as in great traditions, the second meaning could be "fine" traditions, where the offender must actually pay a fine.

Welcome Fairbol! Don't worry, you will get the hang of it. I was scolded several times when I first started- and still get an occassional ruler to the knuckles.

A fine feathered friend told me that WMC sometimes pretends to be working late in his corner office when what he's really doing is writing love letters to the lovely Olivia Newton-John (the lovely ONJ as some prefer, or TLONJ as others prefer).

Writing love letters to the lovely Olivia Newton-John (the lovely ONJ as some prefer, or TLONJ as others prefer) is one of my favorite pastimes and it has resulted in our lovely Olivia making many successful band camp appearances throughout the years.

ron, I am going to scold you here as well because you are definitely using combined sentences for your contribution. This last contribution is basically 3 sentences. You write the way you talk. You can't do that. Think back to diagramming a sentence in English class or whatever class you learned to diagram a sentence. Hopefully you learned that. You need a subject and verb and then you might have assorted adjectives, adverbs, dangling participles (loved those dangling participles!), prepositional phrases, and other such things. You have some of those things but you also have 3 sentences there. It might make more sense using semi-colons between the sentences but the fact remains you still have 3 sentences. So before hitting that Submit button, read and re-read what you wrote in a diagramming state of mind, not in a write-the-way-you-talk kind of mind. Now, having said all of that, if you think you can actually diagram your last contribution, please do so and email it to me. :)

Many successful band camp appearances throughout the years by a certain duo turned into an embarrassment for PowerWorld when Milli Vanilli was exposed as a fraud.

Here is my way of clarifying and cleaning up Ron's comma-infested attempt without creating three sentences, through use of quotation marks, a colon and a semicolon. This, of course, requires you to accept that the clause ending with a colon is not a sentence.

"In keeping with our fine traditions" could have two meanings: One could mean fine traditions, as in great traditions; the second meaning could be "fine" traditions, where the offender must actually pay a fine.

Their Grammy Award for Best New Artist was a kiss of death for groups like Starland Vocal Band and A Taste of Honey who were never able to duplicate their early success.

Success describes today's Fun Department birthday boy and band camp alumnus, Agent 007, Bond, James Bond, Sean Connery.

Semi leave of absence, WMC? I have been working my fingers to the bone making the place crowd friendly, hiring sanitizers, taking bids to get the best price on the finest quality American cleaning products. The best cooks and chefs have been manning the lounge, all out of the goodness of their hearts. The interns have fallen asleep standing up! Semi leave of absence? Semi leave of absence?

Sean Connerywas an early PowerWorld band camp graduate and was instrumental in setting some of our original rules and regulations.

CT, thank you for crystallizing my thoughts. Something to keep in mind, though. If you've been here long enough, you know that I hate seeing semi-colons, colons and ellipses within contributions. They drive me up a tree and make my head explode. And if there's one thing that the lovely young library interns hate cleaning up, it's my exploded head. So , while they aren't officially banned, we like to try to keep the contributions seamless in one well-written unconvoluted sentence. K? K. :)

And, Miss Silkie, I do know that you've physically been there behind the scenes all this time. I was really referring to your posting frequency which, as I'm sure you'll agree, is less often than normal right now. But, yes, I know you've been there all along. :D :D

Change is apparently in short supply as a result of the pandemic because I've seen a lot of stores with signs asking customers to pay for their purchases electronically.

Convenient payments plans may be convenient for you by lowering your monthly payment, but in the end you will actually pay much more than the original purchase price because of the interest that will accumulate on your outstanding unpaid balance.

Your outstanding unpaid balance should be paid in full 4 weeks before the start of each band camp session.

This year, due to the pandemic, the band camp Zoom sessions can be paid in installments over a greater period of time. Payment plans are available to those families suffering extra hardships due to the pandemic. It's what we do.

"Needs a tune-up, realignment, new belts, new windshield wipers, and we ought to take a look at that transmission," said the guy at the garage after my oil change, looking to add at least several hundred dollars to my bill.

My bill for my Game Czar counselling services is always free because it's just the right thing to do.

We'll see you tomorrow night on the 80s Rockfest livestream from the new Illusions. Have a great weekend!!
