Pet their dogs if permitted, but remember that they are specially trained dogs, animals that could not care less about you or anybody else, including their handlers who might be the ones who feed them, unless they are being tormented, and then you might mean the world to them as their rescuers who made them feel better.
 
"Feel better" is typically what you say to someone who is under the weather.

Stuart - you should probably consult your official TFWG Handbook and Policy Manual for the answer to your question. Make sure you have the most recent version which is copyrighted 2021. But, to the best of my knowledge, the beginning clue should not be modified or altered in anyway. Of course, I'm sure WMC will have much more to say on this later.
