Fantastic word game

The legendary Florence Griffith-Joyner could have won even more races by stretching her arms in front of her at the finish and crossing the line first by the length of her oversized fingernails.

Trimmed is not the easiest word in which to begin a sentence, although I suppose that I just did.

I just did think of a new contribution even though it's not the best one I've ever posted but it will have to do at this moment in time.

The legendary Englebert Humperdinck is no relation to Sir Oliver Humperdink, for all of the old school pro wrestling fans out there.

Professional wrestling is most assuredly an acquired taste, and those who are truly marks for the business know there is a significant difference between it and sports entertainment.

Having been reared in this particular part of the Lone Star State, it was, at one time, considered almost sacrilegious to not tune in to KTVT on Saturday nights and cheer on the Von Erichs.

Sports entertainment in the form of professional wrestling was plentiful on cable TV during my three years in Arkansas, where I could watch not only the Saturday night matches from the Will Rogers Coliseum, but also wrestling from Atlanta, Shreveport and Memphis, where my favorite was Jerry Lawler, known far and wide as The King.

Elvis Presley, as imitated by Andy Kaufman, was the catalyst for his career taking off after appearing on David Letterman, and eventually standing up to the aforementioned Jerry "The King" Lawler in the Mid-South Coliseum, resulting in him getting pile driven into the mat, rendered unconscious, and sporting a neck brace for the next several months.

Sporting a neck brace for the next several months was necessary because Lawler and Kaufman repeated their match in other cities around the circuit, which meant the whole story arc had to be replicated in Louisville, Evansville and elsewhere in different time frames, so Kaufman had to be sure not to let on that he had never really been injured.

Injured or not, the slap Andy Kaufman took from "The King" one late night on Letterman, shortly thereafter, was one that hadn't been replicated on live nationally broadcast television until the fateful night Will Smith briefly shared a stage with Chris Rock.

Saturday Night Live was, once upon a time, pre-empted by Saturday Night's Main Event every third month, and this will mercifully be the last reference I will make to professional wrestling and/or sports entertainment for the foreseeable future.

The W in TFWG doesn't stand for wrestling, after all.

On course, you say, yet I haven't seen any mention of tonight's festivities at the new Illusions, and it is nearly Saturday night.

There's the set up, someone knock it down. My sincere apologies to you, CT. After the two of us went off on a wrestling tangent, I think we owe the game this one. 😉

Where the mechanical bull now stands might soon become two mechanical bulls due to the popularity of the thing.

Wow, I must have been tired and completely forgot to mention the 80s Rockfest. I apologize to everyone who looks forward to that weekly announcement especially CT. You can join the fun in person or via the big PowerWorld livestream. And allow me to remind everyone to join us at Denny's in the early morning hours where kenny will cook up some awesome grub.

Also, as a reminder, Band Camp will be open on Monday, President's Day, for a holiday brunch. Miss Silkie and the interns are planning some delicious stuff.
