Fantastic word game

Many decades have passed since I saw Kurt Russell in his most iconic role, "Escape from New York", which took place for me in a four screen movieplex, that nowadays serves as the home to our local CBS affiliate.

Our local NBC affiliate is KETK, owned by Nexstar Media, who thankfully had the good sense to employ a fantastic young lady from Florida, who is well on her way to becoming a well respected journalist, and a beacon of light to the community she serves, the lovely and extremely talented Lauren Margolis.

Well worth the Google search, gentlemen.

The lovely and extremely talented Lauren Margolis seems to have brought the game to a screeching halt, leading me to take some necessary action by way of a rule bend here at the Fantastic Word Game (or TFWG, as some prefer) by responding to myself and giving us a recalculated jump start.

Miss Margolis, nonetheless, remains lovely and well on her way to a long and rewarding career in journalism, even after she petered out as an end clue.

A recalculated jump start probably wasn't necessary as many contributors are contributing to their real lives on weekends rather than contributing to the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer and the FWG as some others prefer).

I did, in fact, look up Lauren Margolis and she is certainly attractive. Perhaps someday she may succeed as an end clue but probably never to the end clue success enjoyed by our two band camp mascots, The Lovely Megan and the late The Lovely Olivia Newton-John (TLO or TLON-J as some prefer).

A student run radio station may still be in operation at Clarion, but its well-known workshop for fantasy and science fiction writers, which a close college friend attended in 1976, is now held in sunny San Diego.

San Diego may hold the Clarion Workshop, but it no longer holds Charger games at Jack Murphy Stadium.

I apologize for the itchy trigger finger, most honorable Game Czar.

I'm equally concerned about our dear co-conspirator, and arguable founder, Stuart. He's apparently having delusions, maybe even inspired by last night's mechanical bull ride at the new Illusions, but I'll do my best to calm the situation and straighten out his confusions. Did he get thrown off at some point in the course of the evening and hit his head? 🤕

Charger games at Jack Murphy Stadium does not sound as much fun as Red Sox games at beautiful Fenway Park.

Am I right on that, CT?

Lester_the_NightFly, we welcome you to the Fantastic Word Game. We appreciate your participation. We must ask you, though, to please use the entire bolded ending clue from the previous contribution as your beginning clue. In this case, it was contributing to the Fantastic Word Game (TFWG as I prefer and the FWG as some others prefer). Other than that, you did fine with the actual bolding and with your second contribution. Feel free to peruse any or all of the previous 2,146 pages of our little game. Please enjoy your stay.

For the last 60 years, or so it seems, Red Sox fans have been singing "Sweet Caroline" and not "Sweat Caroline" as dmargalotti would have us think.

'Sweat Caroline' sounds kinda gross, dmargalotti. Who exactly do you hang out with? Or is this a new TFWG (as I prefer) mascot you haven't told us about yet?

Out of my mind I must have been in the moment when I inadvertently changed "sweet" to "sweat" when referencing that song by Neil Diamond but I was never a fan of the Red Sox or that song so who cares?
