Fantastic word game

The next train out of town will require you to run pretty fast, as the passenger depot has been closed down and shuttered for years.

On top of that, we may need the MOW crew to come out and do some weed spraying and clear a large swath of the ROW.

Shuttered for years, the roller rink rocked back to life when it was announced that the FWG Posse was going to be there each Saturday, rappin', reppin;, and mixin', in full effect.

Words which confuse me tend to be the ones I don't use when posting to The Fantastic Word Game, (TFWG as some prefer) because my confusion might cause me to say something stupid.

(...which I probably do anyway.):D

Regarding rcm's comment in the sequentially numbered #45,678, in the previous post, (the not sequentially numbered #45,677) perhaps I should have written "an unhealthy, but delicious, breakfast" with two commas.

Something stupid is bound to leak out if you talk enough, but if you're always silent when people are around, something stupid will still occur inside your noggin, and if you're always silent, you don't tend to have nearly as much [/b]fun and enjoyment[/b].

Fun and enjoyment accurately describes what's to come when we all read CT's response to the rarely employed (and always incorrect) semicolon comma duo in Quad's contribution a few spots back.

I tell you what. The fun-o-meter has really been pegged, here at the Ranch, since Ed hit the scene, and quad found his way back to the fold. Just look at the hoop I had to jump through playing from his latest offering. [/b] indeed!

Ed, I think you should use the crafty comma as you see fit. Heck, if you really want to live life in the fast lane, toss in the dreaded ellipses for good measure. It ain't my cranium that's going to explode.

Quad's contribution a few spots back ('quad' as quad and everyone else except apparently rosecity prefer) looks as if he may have been moving a bit too fast resulting in extra and unneeded stuff.

We shall give quad (lower case as he prefers) the benefit of the doubt given that he is still in the honeymoon phase of his long-awaited return. No demerits for quad.

However, 2 demerits for rosecity for capitalizing quad's name when it is clearly lowercase.

Play the game, follow the rules, use proper grammar, proper bolding, and of course proper etiquette, and you will find that you will avoid the wrath of the Director of Linguistics, and that is a very good thing.

Did I use enough commas?

A very good thing would be start planning now for our 18th anniversary so that we (meaning I) don't forget the proper date.

December 3, 2024.

The proper date with a young lady starts with meeting the father.

No idea how to properly start a date with a young man. Perhaps the Gane Czar can offer some insight on that. 😁

As he was introduced to his daughter's new boyfriend for the first time, he squinted at him suspiciously, shook his hand, and asked, "You seem decent enough, but what's this my daughter tells me about your not liking maple syrup on chicken fried steak, son?"

"Son," which is a male offspring, is not to be confused with "Sun," which is an object that shines in the sky.

Toxic chemicals being dropped on us from the sky is not as big of a concern to me as the ones being hauled around in tankers that seem to fall off of our nation's rail system at an alarming pace.

For Christmas shopping, I find that taking my future father-in-law's shotgun to the mall with me gets me to the front of the checkout line a whole lot faster.

Comma needed after "pace," Stuart. Looks like another three demerits coming your way.

Faster than the Raiders could hang a 42 point deficit on them, Chargers head coach Brandon Staley and General Manager Tom Telesco were shown the door.

Allowing the black and silver to score the most points in franchise history has its consequences.
