Fantastic word game

I do say so myself that (although not intentionally) some peopIe say I apparently have a sassy tone.

Perhaps I should have left the typo in and accept the demerits. But we wouldn't want anybody "taking to rhe streets" [sic].

Players have come and gone over the years here at the one and only TFWG but the only one who has been here consistently since Day 1 is your ever friendly Game Czar who would like to express his thanks and appreciation to all the contributors near and far.

Around The World In 80 Days was a movie that featured an all-star cast, and appearances by just about everybody.

And it is probably the only movie where you actually want to watch the credits!!

Note to the director of Linguistics: I have italicized the title of the movie instead of using quotes, as per current guidelines for titles. Maybe this will remove my three demerits... no harm in trying.
:)

Just about everybody here has tried to get me to rescind demerits, and they still try, but unless they have the enticing appearance and personality of a petite blonde intern or can obtain the services of one to help around my office, they have no more chance than the proverbial snowball in Hell.

The upcoming solar eclipse will place Tyler directly in the moon's shadow for all of 2 minutes, giving the looters, vagrants and ne'er-do-wells ample enough time for an attempt at pulling off their dastardly deeds, although likely ending up shot for their efforts.

Everything is bigger in Texas, y'know. Including the shells and casings.

For their efforts, the results of the Large Hadron Collider smashing protons together during the eclipse, to look for super secret invisible particles that power the entire universe and universes, made up or otherwise, remain to be seen with some fantastic story or another.

For their efforts, the band camp volunteers for this weekend's Easter festivities will receive their own special meal of thanks.

If you are volunteering at the main band camp or at your local camp, we thank you. The Easter Bunny will be in the atrium of the administrative building on Saturday from 9am to 3pm.

rosecity, I'm sure CT will chime in on this but 'ample' and 'enough' are synonyms so you basically said 'ample ample' or 'enough enough'. Just use one or the other. I'll leave the demerit decision with CT.

And, finally, guess what. Yup, you guessed it. It's the weekend. It's Easter weekend. Lots of festivities going on at band camp. Thanks to all the volunteers. Everyone is invited to the new Illusions tomorrow night for a fantastic Easter themed 80s Rockfest. Then join us in the early morning Sunday hours for some great grub at Denny's. Enjoy time with family and friends and have a great weekend.

Their own special meal of thanks is something that involves a Luby's Cafeteria each November.

Bless your heart, WMC. I'd blame it on the regional dialect, but the real fault lies directly on Miller time. Cheers!

Upon further investigation, I'm ringing Constance's Miller Lite sponsored cowbell for a game foul. I usually reserve these moments for listing song names that don't relate at that other game, but is there any particular reason you, our friendly Game Czar, just bulldozed right over Miss Silkie, your faithful and loyal Head Librarian, and played off of my end clue instead of hers? I'll keep my tsk tsk and snort of derision to myself and let you do your Game Czaring.

November 7, 1941, was the date of the Pearl Harbor attack, but then-Vice President George H.W. Bush, in a memorable late '80s gaffe, gave the date as the 7th of September.

Constance's bell has a sponsor??? When did this happen???

September is usually one of the months when I head to sunny Florida to relax and do nothing for a week.

Miss Silkie's contribution wasn't there when I posted. Notice that we posted about 5 minutes apart. It wasn't there when I started writing my contribution. I did not see any indication from the game that someone else posted before I posted. And I did not see it after I posted.

Drunken crispy students running through fires are competing for the only award that can be won by losing, namely the Darwin Award.

The Darwin Award goes to our distinguished Game Czar of 17 glorious years, WMC, for not taking the extra moment to double check his work by refreshing the screen.

Haphazard game play, WMC, but I won't harp on it since the single clang of the cowbell was ample enough.

Miller Lite sponsors most everything at the Ranch, Lingustics Czar. From the glasses hanging upside down in the bar, to the fabulously vintage "It's Miller Time" neon sign hanging on the wall out in Connie's barn. For that matter, I could very well build my own wall around this joint with the sheer volume of cans laying around here. I've put in more than my fair share financially investing into the damn company. The least they can do is sponsor a weathered, and slightly dented, old cowbell.
