Vittles for the neighbors of Granny's kitchen would always include gizzards smothered in gristle, sow belly and hand slung chitlins, possum shanks, hog jowls, stewed squirrel, a mess of dandelion greens and, of course, some good old-fashioned ham hocks and turnip greens.
