Fantastic word game

Indigestion and indignation are what I have upon realizing that four pages of posts have been made since my last contribution, yet I haven't received a notification about any of them.

What gives, RadioDiscussions? I get notifications within seconds of any new posts in the other games, but not this one.

Ever since the game started, at least since I started playing it, notifications of a new contribution was always waiting for me in my inbox.

Ok...so it's not just me. Remember a couple months ago when I said play the game while you can? The redneck seen this one a'comin'.

In my inbox are only items from people that I want to hear from, and the rest are in the junk mailbox to empty and blocked mail, because it is clean, tidy, uncluttered and organized that way.

That way of conjugating a verb doesn't fly with me, rose, as your "was" referred to "notifications" and, therefore, should be "were."

Three demerits. But what's this about seeing something coming? Are you hinting that our not receiving notifications might be a foreshadowing of a game shutdown?

A song or two with "were" in the title could include Toby Keith's "We Were In Love," which would make for a fine new entry in The Fantastic Lunch Songs Game were I to change the last word.

The topic of any import might include discussions regarding a Honda, Toshiba, Husqvarna, Sony, Daewoo, and many other brand names we have shipped in.

I'll take those without argument, CT, but "topic of any import"?? Shouldn't it be importance, or is that some type of slang/abbreviation that they didn't teach me at John Tyler? I tried submitting in a rush during a break, and...well, that's what I get. As for my commentary, I have said (and firmly believe) that it's just a matter of time (tip of the 10 gallon to Randy Travis) before this site and Lance Venta's site are combined into one, and the radio-info/RadioDiscussions.com site, that we have all known so well and enjoyed so much, will be gone. The changes are already happening. No more top 20 markets. No more notifications on any of the games in the arcade, hell...I can't even bold or italicize an end clue without doing it the old school way. I mean, c'mon. The less user friendly this thing becomes, the less people will participate. The less activity we have around here, the more likely it is to be considered no longer worth it to bother with. I don't know, folks. The writing is on the wall, here at The Ranch. WMC sometimes speaks of dark times when "Ken Jennings" was around, but the dark times to me were directly after Doug Fleming passed and his mother took over the site. Now, with the passing of Frank (who was the only person who obviously had any interest of purchasing the site from Streamline), it sure feels like we are traveling down a rather familiar road. Maybe, just maybe, I'm talking out of my ass, but look at how things are shaping up around here right now. When you've got people over a thousand miles away telling one of the sharpest minds in rock radio, who lives, breathes, and gives his soul to the Metroplex, and in my mind, third only to Russ Martin and Cindy Scull as synonymous with 97.1 The Eagle's long history, that he doesn't know or understand what he's talking about? Yeah...this is why I was ready to bid adieu to the whole thing (not just FWG) a few weeks back. I'm perfectly content living and breathing ETX radio. I don't need to watch these listeners, who just want a forum to express themselves, be told they're insignificant. They are much more a part of the equation than most around here are willing to admit. Anyway, there you go. Let me go on ahead and fold up the soap box now and go have a cold Miller Lite or 3.

Describe your the lovebird obsession in news article headlines about other people, and make believe they're Liz Taylor and Richard Burton or Marvin and Tami.

Kinda gives new meaning to loving the one they're with, don'tcha know!

Liz Taylor and Richard Burton or Marvin and Tami (or Tammi, as she preferred) can be used as examples of couples, if you wish, but be aware that only Liz and Richard were actually romantically involved.

Create a story starting with your contribution to see in which direction it will go.

Just try to keep it family-oriented. None of this high-strung PG-13 stuff that's been polluting our airwaves.

CT, CT, CT. Really CT?? You honestly thought 4 days could pass without one contribution here? Really CT??? I mean, just because you didn't get a notice, that means you don't stop in? I'm shocked. I'm offended. I'm dismayed. I'm agitated. I'm sad. I'm horrified. I'm astounded. Aghast. That's what I am. Aghast. And really really sad. Did I mention that? I could possibly understand 1 day with no contributions (a major holiday) but 4 days? Really???? I need to lie down. But first, I need to pull out the world famous but little used 9 demerits. This package is used so infrequently, perhaps for the first time in the long history of PowerWorld LLC, that it is full of dust and cobwebs. I am also pulling those 3 demerits from Ed that he was trying to get rid of for a few weeks and adding them to the 9. 12 demerits for thinking 4 days could pass without contributions and business as usual especially with the Memorial Day Weekend move-in sessions coming up this weekend. Have Kayla file those!! Speaking of which, you'll be working under Edna, our Human Resources Coordinator, all weekend long. Clear your schedule. I'll be lying down if you need me.

It will go to my new publisher, who is honestly no small potatoes, who likes it and who gives me lots of encouragement and some pointers.

Our make believe library can use a decent synopsis, even. But the story is a real live novel.
