Fantastic word game

Stay aloft in my plush and cozy Game Czar office so I can watch the comings, goings, and what's-going-ons around band camp.

Above average scores indicate who succeeded the topless driving tests.

Hello quad! Welcome back and great to see you. Hope your immediate neck of the woods survived the hurricane. If you see Stuart anywhere down there, let him know we are thinking of him and that PowerWorld will assist him in any way he may need.

Days ago, we were waiting to hear from a couple of friends and family members over in the mountains, but they all came out of the hurricane safely; unfortunately, hundreds have been lost and millions have been devastated, but God is always in charge.

Charge 3 demerits to quad is what I would normally have to do as, dreaded semi-colon or not, he has used two sentences for his contribution which is not allowed but I'm so happy to see him, and hope he sticks around, so I'll waive those demerits this one time.

quad, quad, quad. One sentence and one sentence only please. Welcome back. :)

This one time, and many others before that, our Game Czar has demonized the semicolon and imposed three demerits for a usage that, according to Oxford, Merriam-Webster and other authoritative sources, does not violate the game rule he insists that it does.

Although quad's semicolon is in a sort of gray area. Deciding whether the two parts of the sentence containing a semicolon are related closely enough to be combined in that way is always a judgment call.

Does this sentence without a colon work better?

Mea culpa. It's been a while. I tried to keep the phrases closely related and used the semicolon to keep it from being too run-ony. I was born in a small rural town and I've never been to Tiananmen or Taiwan at any time: and when I embellish I do it for fun or amusement, not to impress you with a lie, or "being a knucklehead" as some now call it.

Better than cool, this game borders on surreal when its more imaginative players get going.

Welcome, Melissa, but the object of this game is not to delve into any specific topic but, rather, to form a new sentence based on the last word or words (they'll be in boldface) of the previous entry, which is what I have done with quadraphonic's.

You are free to leave italicized comments -- like this -- under your submitted sentence, but comments without a submission for the game accompanying them are a no-no.

Going by the shape of things, as it were, we have gotten into a big mess of repeats and repeats of that which we have once said, more than once, as Houdini shows off.

His thing proudly includes a lot of repeat stuff including topless driving, the 80s Rockfest at the new Illusions, band camp, bottled water, TPS Reports (quad's fave), FWG, the FWG, tFWG, TFWG, and the very best in repeats, Miss Silkie and the lovely young library interns.

Filling the hours with disappearing acts, Houdini disappeared so that nobody could see what he was doing to escape his fate, which came without fanfare anyway.
