Fantastic word game

Consistently get louder and louder as the thunderstorm rolls in.

The new Illusions will remain open, 24 hours a day for the next several days, as a cooling center while a heat wave moves through the area. Check on the elderly and pets.

The thunderstorm rolls in from the South.

...n' it brings howlin' winds.

A heat wave! 😂

In Massachusetts?!? 🤣🤣🤣

Hold my beer.

The South is not the only area to get high temps as this neck of the woods will hit triple-digit temps over the next couple of days.

And that's not including the humidity factor. Some areas are expected to break records.

Yes, rosecity, a heat wave in Massachusetts. But, it might also snow tomorrow, you never know.

Mr. Director of Linguistics (DoL as some prefer), we request that you put an end to this linguistic nonsense.

This linguistic nonsense is a fun part of this game (for me, anyway) as opposed to the farming and animal nonsense which is not.

Not my primary concern that the Mayflower Man doesn't like my farmin' n' 'rasslin contributions, n' I reckon he fully realizes, by now, they ain't going nowhere.

We have, of course, simmered down the critter talk fer ev'ryone's sanity, however.

Sorry about yer comin' hot spell up there, WMC. I've got one o' the smallest violins you've ever seen playin' a somber song in the background fer you n' yer feller Yankees. Sounds like yer in store fer a typical June 'round here.

Now, what's this latest scuttlebutt? Someone callin' fer the demise o' the Linguistics Czar, the Petite Blonde Intern, The Listener Lodge, n' The Vermont Boudoir?

I ain't got nothin' to do with that. I stand firmly with my feller heel n' compadre, his short-statured n' ridiculously gorgeous, light-haired assistant, n' their combined abilities to faithfully execute the duties o' The Linguistics Department wing o' WMC's made-up PowerWorld.

Ability and authority are apparently two things that will not be questioned.

Things that will not be questioned are Ed's choice to bold extra words (perhaps CT edited his clue after posting) but that's better than forgetting to bold at all.

rosecity, believe me, I am not complaining about the heat wave. Heat, summer, beach, sun is what I'm all about. Snow, cold, ice and everything associated with winter sucks. And, yes, I know your special critter and rasslin' crap, I mean stuff, is going nowhere.

Forgetting to bold at all is a mistake that I would only make after too many gummies.

I am SO tempted to go back and fix it ... :devilish:
Bold words? Where?

More or less an hour before I hit the sack.

Golly, Linguistics Czar. That was some visual right there. Hopin' Kayla ain't bearin' witness to them slashins.

Ain't no gummies down this a way, unfortunately, but my eyeballs are near'n floatin' from all the Miller Lite I've done drunk today. 🍻

The sack (bed, as I prefer) is whispering my name as the time is nearing to call it a day and rest up for work tomorrow.

Rest up for work tomorrow n' have a peaceful evenin', Mayflower Man, but I gotta wonder aloud to the group exactly what it is that you count at night?

You know, since sheep are from the farm n' all.

"What is it that you count at night?" is a silly question because everyone knows I count lovely young library interns.

Lovely young library interns should've been pennin' last night's latest submission, 'cuz you done went n' flipped 'round a couple o' the words that I left for you.

I'll give you the benefit o' the doubt, though. That par-ticular contribution found its way to the game at nearly midnight yer time. Oughta try the sheep, 'cuz the interns apparently didn't work out so well.

Not sure if the boudoir dwellers will be so forgivin'.

I left for you a virtual high-five for recognizing my screwup with the clue which will lead to many demerits from that guy who hands them out.

I will gladly accept them and display them proudly.
