Fantastic word game

Summer blinker fluid is not on anyone's mind right now because southern New England is going for a record breaker over the next few days.

Yup, temps in the mid to upper 90s with high humidity pushing feel-temps over 100. Cooling stations, lakes, and ponds are available at or near all local band camps.

CT, sorry about the time-centric clue.

The good times we've had at band camp will last us a time-centric lifetime so, today, let's just take it easy in the heat, stay cool, and check on our friends and neighbors.

Our furry pet friends are at risk too often when left in hot cars, even with the windows open a crack.

And I'm cracking open a cold six-pack of demerits and handing three of them to dmargalotti for omitting the comma between "risk" and "too."

Your mother's back, and it looks like you're gonna get a whoopin', 'cause she sure looks mad!

Sucks to be you kid!

She sure looks mad, but if she was my mom, she would rather throw her shoe at you than hit you.

Although, I seem to remember that I was on the receiving end of both!

Hit you on the knuckles with a ruler is what I'd like to do when I see a linguistic error in one of your submissions, but the price of gasoline is much higher than the price of demerits, so I charge you with three demerits and avoid the travel expenses.

Expenses for 4Dude (previously known as TheDude) to travel here for a quickie were next to nothing because all he did was slide into Stuart's old spot in the lineup.

When a heat dome has descended upon your neighborhood, it's best to just crank the air conditioning, drink plenty of water, and take a nap for a few days.

Still, though, I'll take it over snow, cold, ice, winter.

Care for your friends, neighbors, and Directors of Linguistics during this heat wave.

Obviously, our beloved DoL is suffering from this heat wave as he neglected to bold his entire beginning clue. We'll let it pass this week.

This heat wave has affected all the normal, everyday things, such as the Early Morning Contribution (EMC as most prefer), so since the Director of the EMC hasn't shown his face yet, I shall start us off this morning with something simple, non-time-centric, yet easy enough with which someone can move us forward with a new thought or idea.

And a warm but happy Friday to one and all.

A new thought or idea will be coming to me at some point over this long weekend, but first, I need to point out a certain pot that just called a certain kettle black.

And that certain someone (something, as actual pots and kettles prefer) is our very own WMC, who, after calling me out for only partially bolding a starting clue, has just put not a single word of his starting clue in boldface

Black helicopters hovering over your house is probably a sign that you're in serious trouble.
