Fantasy PD

eh...G105 repeats their songs waaay too much..i've noticed that whatever song they come out of bob and the showgram with..will be repeated 4-5 times in the next 3 hrs....this morning I almost put a bullet thru the radio at my job cuz they played that dang katy perry song....as soon as I heard the first 3 beats of the song I ran to the radio almost knocking over a coworker and switched it to 96 rock.
 
The station does well, end of story. Just because you failed in the business doesn't mean you need to take it out on a group of people who are doing good radio. If you way of thinking was the right way, you would be successful. You're not, you failed at life....get over it.

Please don't go back and read the subject of the thread and then think about what an A hole you are. Don't do it. You're the best. Everybody knows it. Don't do anything differently. Your station is the best. If another top 4o came on across town, they wouldn't take you down and you would't be the first to be fired. I'm sorry. You're right. I'm wrong. No, if another station came across town they would adjust, and still win. To stay on subject, if I was a "Fantasy PD" of G 105 I would never hire no it alls who have no idea what it takes to get ratings. They get ratings, always have. Solid local morning show, live talent throughout the day, evening, and weekends, descent imaging...sounds like a winner to me.

What do you do for a living? Obviously not program or be a part of any successful station in the nation.

Ok, interesting thought here. Between Raleigh and Gboro, we have a few heritage stations with no direct competition in their format.

G105
K97.5
99.5 WMAG (Simon aside)
107.5 KZL
maybe even 96 Rock - RVA does well against them sometimes, but G is the only other that touches new rock

If you were a PD hired to take a station from scratch and take down one of these heritage giants - how would do you it? What weaknesses would you exploit and strengths would you take into account?

"talk amongst yourselves"

Now, remember, you're not the "imaginary PD" of G105. You're the "made up" PD of another station that is going up against G.

Just a couple of quick additional things for you to watch out for in the future:

No is the opposite of yes. Know means to have knowledge, which would work better in the context of "know it alls".

Descent is the act of descending. I think you wanted the word decent there.

I hope you can use some of this when you finally get that first full time job. They can't keep skipping you forever!
 
I think Bob & Co.'s content is a lil rough for a CHR sometimes. I don't think he's the most talented guy in the world...far from it actually. But he's been getting $$$$ and ratings forever. Same with Murphy at KZL. Until someone knocks them off, Bob will be crude, and Murphy will be a recluse

First of all you didn't even start this topic, you made a very ignorant response to the original post about G105. I pointed out that everything you spoke about the station was completely false. I will avoid your attacks on my spelling, just like you have been avoiding all the facts that I spoke to you about the station. You are one of those people who are destroying radio with your BS and ignorance. Old, out of touch, and very bitter. If I was a "FANTASY PD" I definitely wouldn't hire you.

Local morning show, local talent (even on weekends), great mix of top 40 music, forward moving imaging, great promotions that relate to the audience, ties and events with local charities....point out my horrible spelling all you want, but at least I can point out good radio.

Shucks, I bet the Rooster might even be interested!!!!! Hang in there, show time. We're all pulling for ya, slugger. To sum up :-X; I agree totally with everything you've ever said. Except that I wouldn't say your spelling was terrible, it just wasn't good. :eek: :eek: You can do it! :-*
