You are the PD about to program a new station. Choose the music format and Boston jocks past or present.

I admit I am biased..... Jess Cain 6-10 in the morning............light talk, good humor, news and maybe a song now and then

Rhythmic-Leaning CHR with no talk in the mornings, high energy imaging, and only a few jocks to keep a "more hit music now" kind of station going. a very high energy more music kind of environment is what I think would lure people away from bland Kiss and Jam'n

I would even consider "commerical free mornings" to really challenge Matty.

Do you think you could make enough ad revenue during the rest of the day to have a completely commercial-free morning drive?

Station: CHR

Mornings: Matty

Middays: Deirdre Dagata

Afternoons: Jackson Blue

Nights: Someone new and exciting

Could never happen. But that's my current dream CHR for Boston.

Urban A/C or Chr/R that will knock off lame a$$ Jamn 94.5 daily playlist.

If it is marketed right, then yes. Look what CBS' AMP CHR's are doing with Commercial Free Mondays.

I would love to see another chr in Boston. Radio sounded really good in Boston when both Kiss 108 and then 94.5 wzou were battling it out over the airwaves. U can see it percolating with z100 and now 92.3 in new york.

Mine is

"Soft Hitz Now" 92.9

Playing NEW Soft Hits, NEW Urban AC, New Smooth Jazz, and NEW Country Music.

-Week-
Midnight-6am Continious Music
6am-10am T Clark
10am-3pm Joe McMillan
3pm-7pm China Doll
7pm-Midnight Brian McKnight Show

For now, I would say like this. This would be my dream AC Radio Station.

If you didnt know, I hate to tell you that The "Brian Mcknight Show" will be history( last show air January 22 2010).

thank you @Rapking

Let me re-think this one

For now, I'll replace that with ......hmmm....???? John Tesh and as I said before, the station will play ALL NEW Soft Hitz as I said in the first idea

Real Progressive Talk. Smart, In-your-face, no-holds-barred, foot-on-the-neocons-throat, progressive talk. WWZN is a valiant effort. But this market needs some serious ass-whoppin' liberal FM radio.

WEEI-FM circa 1977, with updated music.

Joni Without the Baloney was as cool as WMJX is nerdy.

Just re-sing the jingle about "Walking round the commons."

My Dream Line-up:

Mornings-John Tesh
Middays-Free Form BCNesque programming!
Afternoons-Ryan Seacreast.
Evenings-Delilah
Overnight-Spanish Religious Programs.

And weekends as follows:

Saturday morning-Free Form BCNish
Saturday afternoon-Celtic
Saturday Evening-Disco!
Saturday overnight-Spanish Religious Programs.

Sunday Morning-Gospel music and live Mass from my Parish Church
Sunday Afternoon-Country
Sunday Evening-Old School Rap
Sunday overnight-Spanish Religious Programs

Wouldn't that be a station?

If I'm CC, buy 97.7 from Entercom and move Jam'n to that frequency and resurrect WZOU on 94.5 but as a Rhythmic AC station calling it "94-5 ZOU" and follow the KTU mix (not like the old Star 93.7 mix)

Fantasy Lineup:

Mornings 6-10: John Lander and the Nut Hut (YES! Lander's return to the Boston airwaves!)
10-3: Ed McMann (I know he's voicetracked on B101 in Providence but his home studio could be at this station)
3-7: Hollywood Hamilton (voicetracked; also voicetracks on 104.3 My FM in LA)
7-Midnight: Marc Clark (former ZOU, Jam'n and Star 93.7 DJ)

Jingles: Use the Reelworld KTU package

Actually he isn't on B101 anymore, as they now use terrible generic voicetracks. It looks like he is still tracking afternoons on 105.9 in Hartford though.

Classic Rock/Oldies

My Historic Lineup:

Overnight: 12-6: Dick Summer, Music/Talk
Morning Drive: 6-10 AM Charles Laquidera/Dwayne Glasscock
10AM-2 PM: Paula Street
2 PM-6 PM: Austin Davis (Austin Of Boston)
6PM- 9 PM: J. J. Wright
9PM- 12 Midnight: Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsburg
Weekend/Swing Shift: Frank Kingston Smith

News: Jim Westover (WEEI Newsradio 59 overnight guy).
Sports: Bob Cuddy
