Fargo gets "another" 50,000 watt signal?

Very true, and talk about timing?

This past week, WZFN 1100 AM got their cover approved to sign-on. No clues at all about programming, but the new station is owned by Brantley Broadcast Associates out of Alabama. As of 06/23/07, no carriers, tones, or other signs of life have been noted while monitoring the frequency.

This non-directional powerhouse could prove to be interesting!

WZFN will never get built... look at this companies AM Apps and CP grants in Alabama.. Saraland and others have been the COls and they never get built.

How did it sound? A friend of mine has been working on that station for several weeks. I am glad to here he got it on the air. It should sound better later, he told me that they were ordering a new audio processor.
A 50KW signal in that part of the country should really KICK BUTT.

Oh wow, it's on the air? I stand corrected then, my apologies.

I've known this company to get CP's they never built. I wonder what they're going to do with it.

What's it programming?

They have been on and off for the last 2 weeks making field strength readings and other equipment test. They are not on now but it has been built.
Programming? I have no idea. They used gospil, country and oldies while they were testing.

Well for what it's worth I was delivering an F550 flat bed to the outdoor advertising place off of 12th..near some railroad tracks..I think it was called Riverdale or river (something) In the back of the main delivery yard there is a place where they put up test billboards and take pictures of them..

My partner Ed and I both saw something for "Sports 1100 Z-FAN" is that what you guys are talking about? there was this fellow in a suit who was flipping out that we were standing there looking at it, and started coming over.

If that's it then this radio will be sports. Probably boring too. especially if people in suits are turning it on. I would like to hear more oldies or something. Where is oldies in that town? We deliver vans and trucks instead of them towing them, and we end up in the Fargo, Morehead area a lot. We want to hear oldies. Ed says he like the shirelles.

Thanks you
Howard Halland

That's funny. Probaly the GM of the station freaking out. Would have been funny to see what he said to you, like give you a verbal ceast and desist to not tell anybody! ;D

Nice try, with the WZFN call letters, but there's already a 50kW sports station there called The Fan (with some programming from KFAN in Minneapolis).

The Oldies station there is on 106.9. You'd get smoked trying that, too.
