Farm in Atlanta?

According to a post on Facebook, former 99X program director Leslie Fram has stated, "No plans to come back to Atlanta."

The smart money is on her joining the dark side and working for a label.

The Widow's Son retired from radio and is now owns a farm - he grows big, juicy, watermelons.
Fram would be an excellent pig farmer (regrets to Pete Spriggs.....)

I know of some land for sale up near Alpharetta. Cheep.

That sounds like an oxymoron! Nothing about Alpharetta seems to have the word cheap associated with it these days.

Maybe we will see a headline in the AJC: Fram Farm has Cheap Sheep beside the Alpharetta Autobahn

When I saw this title, I thought it was gonna be about someone setting up a farm in Atlanta. That'd be quite an accomplishment! Can't wait to hear Captain Herb reporting on the traffic nightmare on the downtown connector because of a slow-moving tractor!

With today's craze for urban based agriculture, the Amish could bring a farm operation to the city. I can picture Captain Herb describing how the little black horse-drawn buggies are disrupting traffic.

I was thinking the same thing, but could not quite get the thought into words (what do antenna farm seeds look like?) You hit the nail on the head!

You have to learn to tell the male towers from the female towers. When you drive past an A.M. tower, the guy wires have those little "knots" in the guy wires. The engineers will try to tell you that they a insulators. (They are called Johnny-balls by some folks.) The truth is... those are the seeds for antenna farms. Only A.M. towers can procreate new tower farms.

While we're on the subject of farms, I seem to recall a traffic report Captain Herb did about ten years ago in which some cattle got loose on an interstate (I wanna say I-75 in Cobb County). He made a comment about having beef patties for dinner that night!

Oh, makes sense now. Thanks! I knew that if some antennas had guy wires, then there must be some other antennas with gal wires.
(There is such a thing: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/457185394/electro_gal_wire.html)

Is there a a way to mark a post as Not Safe for Work? Antenna procreation might be too racy for some work screens.

I have a GE Superadio that is AC/DC...its antenna swings both ways.

You win the prize. Oh, man, that's funny!!! :D

Back in the mid 80s when Bob and Tom were busy "breaking new ground" in Indianapolis, the AM station originating their program (I don't think they were multi-city or syndicated at that time) lost one of it's three towers in a severe storm. The FCC permitted the station to broadcasting using the remaining two towers and after every body got their ducks in a row, the tower crew showed up to install the new tower.

Bob and Tom made a big ceremonial day our of, what else, ERECTION DAY.

In today's culture I guess that would be a big ho-hum... but 25 hears ago, it generated quiet, guarded snickers all over town, and a lot finger-wagging from the more pious citizenry.

Instead if seeds for a tower farm... it was a "transplant".

Growing up north of Indianapolis; I can say that we only EVER listened to Bob and Tom on WFBQ, Q-95 back in the 80's. I don't recall them originating from an AM station. There was an AM in their combo however; and I seem to recall that it was sports.
