Interesting that a Farmington NM cable system would carry all those distant LA independent channels. I know KTLA and KTTV were carried on satellite, extending their coverage area around the West. But I didn't think KHJ-TV and KCOP would also be seen so far from home.

You'd think other superstations would have been in their place, stations that had places on the satellite, such as KWGN Denver and WTBS Atlanta. Did this Farmington cable service pick up KCOP and KHJ-TV from microwave transmission? I didn't think four LA stations were on the bird.

Looking at the 1980 Broadcasting Yearbook (which has listings of what was carried on most cable systems), at least one of the Los Angeles Four were carried in the following New Mexico communities:
Alamogordo [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP] (also carried KTVU, WGN, and WTBS)
Albuquerque [KTLA/KTTV] (also carried WGN and WTBS)
Artesia [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Carlsbad [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Deming [KTLA/KTTV] (also carried KTVU, WGN, and WTBS)
Farmington [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Gallup [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Hobbs [KTLA/KTTV]
Jal [KTLA/KTTV] (also carried WTBS)
Las Cruces [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP] (also carried WTBS)
Las Vegas [KTLA/KTTV]
Lovington [KTLA/KTTV]
Roswell [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Santa Fe [KTLA/KHJ/KTTV/KCOP]
Silver City [KTLA/KTTV/KCOP] (also carried KPHO)

Also, then-WTCG wasn't on the satellites until December 1976.
