Father Harry Of The God Squad

I haven't had correspondence from (Monsignor) Father Harry for some time and was wondering if anybody knows what he's currently up to in regards to media. Last time he wrote, he told me he was moving away from his long running God Squad spots into some new areas of communication (Internet/Satellite ?).

Has another priest taken over the God Squad narration or have the music-message capsules disappeared ? Any update would satisfy my curiousity. Also, as he missed a gong this year, IMHO it would be fitting to see Father Harry recognized in next year's San Francisco Radio Hall Of Fame, for his long running and outstanding contribution of reaching out to the masses, via radio.

Thanks & regards,
IAN in Oz.

Have you considered writing him and asking? In the past he's responded immediately to my email. [EDIT]

Just maybe I've found a thread which may answer my own question ! I read the 1260AM frequency in San Francisco has been purchased by the Catholic Church and is about to launch. I bet the good Father is involved and maybe an air appearance now & again is likely.

I will write him again soon. In the meantime, it will be interesting to hear 'what' format the Church puts in place. A possible positioning statement is "San Francisco's AM1260, Home Of The Good Guys" or "Reaching For The Sky, San Francisco's AM1260". Just a thought !

Regards,

Unlikely, Immaculate Heart Radio is an independent operator, not the Church. The archdiocese is not involved as far as I know. IHR runs a syndicated schedule 24/7, and I doubt there will be any local origination.

Actually in Stockton, where IHR owns and runs KWG-1230, They do break from the syndicated EWTN programming to run St. Mary's High School Sports Programs as well as local Catholic Church programs.

In Sacramento, they run Sunday Masses from various Churches throughout the Valley.

What about Fr. Miles Reilly?

Is he out of the picture?

Anyone know the where abouts of Brother Jon Rivers of the the powerline fame?
Jon has an early weekday morning shift on K-LOVE Radio with his wife Sherry. I believe they do the show out of a studio located on his Texas ranch via a link to Rocklin, CA. He continues to produce the syndicated 20 The Countdown Magazine as well.
