Favorite anchor?

For Rochester:

WHEC: Janet Lomax
WROC: Maureen McGuire
WHAM: Don Alhart(I know, its sterotypical, but what the heck!)

I haven't watched Syracuse for awhile, but...

WSYR: Rod Wood
WTVH: Maureen Green
WSTM: Don Lark

I have to go with Janet Lomax. Maybe I am biased because I watch 10 news more. Don Alhart is excellent still, but I think he should have stepped down when Gabe Dalmath retired. Maureen McGuire is decent, but she will get a bad rap because she works on 8.

Let's give some credit to Bill Wordon at WKTV. He has been there since the 70's and has always done a great job. Maybe better than the market deserved. Maybe if he had stepped down durring the WUTR's best years, things might be different in Utica TV.

Don Alhart i(WOKR -WHAM-TV)is a classic. A great anchor and a classy guy. He deserves all the success he's had.

Jim Aroune at R-News does a decent job as anchor. However I agree with others that Don Alhart should be mentioned because of his longevity and the fact he's a decent fellow off-air as well.

Alhart wins by default since he's been on the air before there was color television.
As for 10, Funke is okay, but I liked him better on sports. Lomax appears bored at times.
Channel 8; well what can I say? Pretty fair anchor team backed up by a group (except McKinley) of field reporters who graduated from the Gong Show. Of course this new management team at 8 is coming in and making some 'big changes.' Where have we heard that before ???

WSYR: Rod Wood
WSTM: Kevin Schenk... just weekends, but very personable on-camera
WTVH: Nobody. They're all mediocre.

I'll agree with therealjm12, Bill Worden does well for WKTV. But, it's a shame they have to dilute his credibility with those segments for the nursing home (seems very much like paid "news" coverage) and his "FYI" segments sometimes seem fake. Do they expect people to believe Bill Worden personally researched iPods, Disney World, cell phone viruses and the Grand Canyon Skywalk? Just let him report the news, don't force him to read this fake garbage.
