Favorite and least favorite music stations on xm?

as I understand it, 20 on 20 is their top music channel, and their least favorite would probably be one of the foreign music channels.

even though 20 on 20 has the most listeners, they still need to attract teens for future subscriber growth through big national promotions that no terrestrial station would ever go near because of the demographics that they have to sell. terrestrial radio stations have to shun teens because they're selling advertising based on demographics that they don't want to ruin. satellite radio does not have this problem. satellite radio has terrestrial radio operators in a corner here.

big, splashy teen-oriented promotions can only bring in revenue. why? since everyone subscribes to all of the spectrum anyway, adults are going to be off on their channels, leaving the teens to have theirs. teens love contests which allow them to work together as a team to help their schools, understand their relationships, play computer games better, etc. satellite radio is in a UNIQUE position to do this and benefit greatly. teens will WANT XM if the right promotions are carried out in the right way.

i would guess the right promotion could translate to at least a million more subscribers in pretty short order (teens come on-board quickly). the right promotion would have them bugging mom and dad until they got the the money to subscribe.

Favorite- XM 6 for the jingles, all the in-house produced shows, and overall excitement recreating the spirit of the 60's.

Least favorite- XM 7 for the lack of everything mentioned above plus those nausiating TV clips.

Favorite: XM78 Escape - the true sound of a 1976 beautiful music station brought up to date

Least Favorite: XM73 - too "smoky" and depressing, and dark; needs more uplifting 'bright music'. Sunny 24 when CC first got-em did a good job of this, then they wrecked it (so what else is new?).

Regarding CH7, I think it's pretty decent, actually, in recreating the sound of my 1970's Top40 station; XM6 does a great job too- actually, all the decades channels do a great job.

XM 40 deep Tracks is my favorite, and I suppose that whatever channel has Opie and Anthony would be my least favorite.

I have a three way tie for favorites: The Message, 90s on 9 and Lucy. Least favorite would be whatever that metal channel is. How that junk came to be considered music is beyond me (of course, most say the same about hip hop, which I really enjoy).

fave:
9/81.

least*
and this one i am shocked no one said:
the traffic channels in the 200's:

i listen , now and again - for the 'novelity'...
but the problems, are the cities selected:
yes, NY/LA/SF/etc...but other cities that
"sneeked" in there are a bit of an odd choice.

secondly, i only listen to say...a city's traffic
to prepare me ( not for driving) but to get
me excited if Im going on vacation some where
in the near future (and, yes i would be travelling
by aire), but i flip to #222, just to hear
the I-405/I-105...exit number### there
is a slight delay ( then i start to think...)
oh yea, how much that part of town is,
or oh yea, its always bad there because of...
but IM NOT LISTENING for the traffic : )

thirdly, if any one is listening for the traffic,
are they TUNING into xm? i know i wouldnt -
i would KNOW my AM/news channel is ON THAT
heck, due to the unfortunate events of 9/11
it changed the landscape of radio, the
news, traffic is now on (some) FM -music based
broadcasts (*outside of the morning show format)
which again, there is it the source, for the
most up2date,accurate, and current situations...

this doesnt even cover the fact...LARGER cities (and, even medium, markets too)...
also, run the traffic/live conditions, on the TV-news stations!

i just think - - yes, it is "nice" but what a waste.
again...i will tune in...when it is -25 below, to the san diego channel,
to hear...hmmm, 71F and partly cloudly : ) but, thats about it!

or,
during a hockey/baseball game *w/the cities that have teams,
to hear them talk about the extra traffic for the sporting events,
pittsburgh mentions it * other cities, do not

PLUS:
they never tell you the "JAM"Factor means, just the colour!

Favorites: 80 on 8, 90's on 9, 20 on 20, The Blend, Flight 26, XM Hitlist, Big Tracks, Suite 62, Escape, Watercolors, The Move, BPM, The System, XM Chill

Least Favorite: Any XL channel. I hate profanity and I have those channels all blocked and it is great. Also the talk and sports channels. They bore me to death. I got XM for music and only music.

My favorites:

XM 62/Suite 62 - 100% 1st Class Adult R&B
XM 64/The Groove - Real Old School R&B
XM 65/The Rhyme - Old School Rap
XM 66/66 RAW - Hardcore Explicit Rap!
XM 67/The City - Current R&B/Hip-Hop
XM 71/Watercolors - Best Smooth Jazz anywhere!
XM 81/BPM - Ultimate high energy dance tracks!
I also like Deep Tracks and that other classic rock channel as well.

My one least favorite is the KISS channel because of the overplayed "new" stuff.
