Favorite Classic Christmas Episodes

It's not from a series per se, but the first Peanuts special, A Charlie Brown Christmas, is a personal holiday season favorite. I love the perfect blending of humor, pathos and social commentary.

Charlie Brown railing against the commercialization of Christmas.

Trying to keep the spirit of Christmas alive by directing a Christmas play and getting the smallest Christmas tree, much to the ridicule of his peers.

His dismay when his own dog wins First Prize in a home-decoration contest.

Charlie Brown's friends finally getting it, and saying in unison to him "Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!"

The late, great Charles Schultz had his philosophies of life just about right on target.

[Bing] Crosby had those Christmas specials on ABC with his (second) family from about the mid-60s until his death. He taped that David Bowie bit in September, 1977, and died a month later...it aired two months after that.

...actually, that final Crosby Christmas special (with David Bowie) ran on CBS rather than ABC...

...my own favourite is the 1967 Christmas episode of "The Monkees," in which the guys got the behind-the-scenes crew in front of the camera during the closing credits so that they could send seasonal greetings to those relatives who'd be out-of-town that year...

So many series have made their own version of "A Christmas Carol", but one of the most ironic has to be one from "WKRP". The ghost of Christmas future takes Carlson to the WKRP of the future. Lo and behold, it's all automated! Computer runs the whole thing with the exception of Herb Tarlek who babysits it.

The only thing they got wrong was that it was just one station and not a Clear Channel cluster. :p

Was there ever a good "All In The Family," Christmas episode?

Archie Loses his bonus
Edith has a cancer scare
Mike and the draft doger.
The transvestite guys gets killed
Archie and Edith go to California to find the kids broken up
The one where Archie catches a counterfieter at his bar let's him go and he gets into a fancy new car(That may have been "Archie Bunker's Place")

The only good one was the birth of Joey, which didn't mention Christmas but the next episode mentioned Joey just being born and the Stivics needed a babysitter for a NYE party
