Favorite College Radio or Non-Commercial Show in New Jersey?

There've been threads on favorite moning & afternoon shows...but I've discovered some great (IMO) shows on college stations. Is anyone else listening? (P.S. Please don't post your friend's show who you hang out with in the dorms. That would be lame.) If no one answers I guess no else is listening.

Here's my faves:

"That Modern Rock Show" with Ghosty, WFDU
"Teenage Wasteland" with Bill Kelly, WFMU
"That Other 70's Show", WSOU
"Idiot's Delight", WFUV

Rich Robinson on WBJB. He is funny and the music is great! I think the station over all is very good.

Anyone got comments on the station at Wm Paterson College over in Wayne/N. Paterson.
I hear they may be looking for a station director/manger probably on the faculty as well???

I love the weekend stuff on WGLS Glassboro. They're really a great training ground for the REAL world of radio, especially News. Their info special WIBG vs. WFIL won them a national award. Fran Hogan (former Chief Engineer for WFIL in their heyday) runs a tight ship. It's run like a real radio station. Philly's college stations have grown from weirdness in the '60's and '70's to important outlets.

Some of the college stations are nothing more than sandboxes that the kiddies play in, like WLFR. There's no structure, format, rhyme or reason. Just amateurish playtime, and for the most part, the students leave without a clue.

Just an opinion,

wgls ... used to have "annette" ...doing "soundtrack tunes" ...on sunday early afternoons ... any movie tunes from the 30's to the 90's .... annette was no longer in college .. but had her "gig" there ... it was a fantastic show

Amen. Couldn't agree more.

Now what needs to be done to rectify this situation?
Still wondering if some has a report on the radio at Wm Paterson College.

I'll second the notion for Z88.9 all day long. The dance is great, and their specialty shows are very good as well.

I used to listen to WOCC (Ocean County College Radio) back in the day - they had a pretty good Alternative playlist back when I was in middle school about 15 years ago on 90.5. They vanished, resurfaced on 96.5, but I'm not sure if they're still around now. Anyone know what became of WOCC?

Recently I haven't listened to any particular shows but I know that WMCX (88.9 - Monmouth University Radio, if I'm not mistaken) puts together a pretty good modern rock mix including heavier stuff and obscure titles. Worth checking out if you're in the vicinity and enjoy that genre.

What do you guys think of 88.7 FM WRSU Rutgers Radio? Any shows you like/dislike?

Thanks.

A mere shadow of what it used to be 20 years ago.

I'd have to say 90.3 the core WVPH.. (the redheaded step child of rutgers)..

Very diverse, very interesting shows. Especially mine, lol... Friday Night Adrenaline Rush 10p-midnite and my Saturday Mornin' Breakfast Beats 8-10a

check it out if u like dance music and if you're not in the z-88.9 listening area. :)
