As soon as I get in range its WMID, all the time, except when the Phillies are on, there is no other than Classic Oldies WMID. They are one unique station, I really do not mind the automation, I for one, listen for the music not the jocks. I am usually an Active Rock listener, but since there is nothing around, the "oh wow" oldies WMID plays are the next best thing.

Beautiful...it's nice to see a post discussing Jersey shore radio being that is was just Memorial Day weekend (i.e. unofficial start of summer) at the Jersey shore!! ;DI am what you year-round shore residents would call a "bennie" (permanent residence in Essex Co.) but my family has a house in Long Branch and I spend most summer weekends there. I have always enjoyed listening to 94-3 The Point (WJLK/Asbury Park), but lately they have been sounding a little stale - overplayed and non-original sounding playlist. I must have heard Nickleback at least 3 times a day on The Point all weekend! It seems that WPLJ has a bigger playlist and their music variety is outstanding. However, I still think that The Point is one of the better stations in Monmouth Co (along with 107.1 The Breeze, which is literally in my backyard in Long Branch). They should continue what they are doing presentation-wise, but expand that playlist a little - don't be afraid to throw in a little more 80s and 90s, especially some rhythmic songs from Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Madonna, etc. Being that it's now the start of the summer season at the shore, The Point's listeners will increase for the next 3 months - they should take advantage and be a little more creative and adventurous. Throw some summer party songs in there!!
