Favorite Local Band of all Time

BeatleJuice are at the Regent Theater tonight, 2/10. Then Delp goes on tour June, July & August with the band BOSTON. Beatlejuice returns to Regent in September.

Travis, I don't remember the Cablevision show, but can send an e mail to Robert Holmes and ask.
 
I have tix for the Regent show tonight. I did get to talk to Brad a couple of weeks ago after a sound check and he was pretty sure they are touring this summer. I'm assuming for a summer tour all the contracts are signed by now and the venues are booked.

Brad was reccomending Gary Cherones "Who" cover band "Slip Kid".. I will have to cach them.

Back to Boston bands... T.H. and the Wreckage comes to mind, The Atlantics, Human Sexual Response....

Boston's music scene has always been vastly underrated.

Joe will know this...What was the name of the local music show that Cablevision used to show in Boston during the late 80's/early 90's? They used to show a club show by Robert Holmes' ('til tuesday) band Ultra Blue a lot. That was a pretty decent band as well.

No Travis. This was on Cablevision, which was Boston's cable company at the time. Comedian Mike McDonald (ya caaaan't swim tha chaaaaahles rivah...it caaaant be dun..not fa anyyyh amouwnt) used to always be on, and they showed two shows that I recall regularly. Ultra Blue, and Temptress.

It was some locally produced music show, but not a dedicated music channel.
 
Neggy, maybe I'll see you there at BeatleJuice - it's 8:25...I'm way behind schedule...Brad & the boys are very consistent so even if I miss the event, they are one of the better bands around.

The Fools - their closing song was called, "That's it - GO HOME!". For a raucous good time, they would go through the crowd, stick a mike in somebody's face, and ask them what the band could do with "it", and then work "it" into the song . Needless to say, the drunks could get very creative! :0)

The Fools new album is currently being produced by Anthony J. Resta (Duran Duran, Didi Stewart). Just got an e mail from Anthony and Leo from the FOOLS, coincidentally.

Neggy - did not see you at Beatlejuice. The Regent renovated the old bowling alley downstairs, it is stunning.
I heard Beatlejuice through the floor as they were showing me the new space. It's got a stage & everything.

They are thinking of dropping a videoscreen and letting people dance to the groups playing upstairs in this big dance space they have downstairs.

In the 80s, my cousin used to go to The Channel alot, she was friends with a guy named Tom Healy who was in Delusions of Graduer. Did they ever cut a studio CD?
 
I DJ'ed between sets at The Channel a few times, when I used to occasionally do that back in the vinyl days. Collecting my pay was often a challenge. Saw many great shows there, though.
