Favorite New Dance Song/s

Been a while since we had a thread like this. BRH already posted his favorite new song just below this thread (Ronny V. "What If").

My pick goes to Evermore "It's Too Late (Dirty South Remix)". Heard it on Pete Tong's Essential Selection, and after hearing it when Gabriel & Dresden were in town that pretty much sealed the deal. I'm a sucker for these Rock/Dance hybrid records.

Don't know if it's a good fit for CHR/Pop radio (at least not right away), but the vocals are a bit reminiscent of Coldplay, Radiohead, and Dave Mathews Band. Perhaps some Modern Rockers will give it a shot, alongside Party in L.I./Energy in S.F. and Az/C-89.5 Seattle.

Outside of Robbins titles, 2 songs that I like at Dance Radio right now (or about to be) are Stunt's - "Raindrops" and Joey Negro's "Make A Move on Me". Stunt should be a power at Dance Radio everywhere and Joey's track needs to be played. Not sure if Tommy Boy has serviced it yet but it's a great track.

Just thought of a few more that are on the older side but never received proper exposure here in the states:

Jamesy P's "Nookie", I think I've convinced Next Plateau to release the dance version of this. :) It's Reggae with A Sandy B. track.

Hound Dogs "I Like Girls" - Summer jam that never popped here. Great for Dance stations that can play something that's a little urban in the Digital Underground vein.

Some of my favorite newer and recent tracks;

Ronny V. feat. Nanda - "What If? (I'd already mentioned this one. Also, John P., you should consider working this one at mainstream CHR sometime in the future. It's that good, and really has potential.)

Disco Boys - "Hey, St. Peter" and "Ghost Town". (I LOVE this group and their mixes. Both of these newer tracks are awesome).

Shapeshifters - "Incredible" (perfect summer vibe on this one. I like it as much as I did "Lola's Theme".)

LMC feat. Rachel McFarlane - "You Get What You Give".

Groove Coverage - "On the Radio"

Vinylshakerz - "Daddy Cool"

Redwing - "Rocket" (not new, but "BPM" has dug this one up and brought it back as a new track. I hadn't heard it before, and I love it.)

Meck feat. Leo Sayer - "Thunder in my Heart Again"

Sunblock - "I'll be Ready"

Coburn - "We Interrupt This Programme"

Paffendorf vs. Madonna - "Vogue"

Filterfunk - "SOS (Message in a Bottle)"

Above and Beyond - "Alone Tonight"

Black Fras - "Moving Into Light"

Jenn Cuneta - "Let me Take You Away" (great Sister Sledge sample on this one).

Persephone's Bees - "Nice Day"

Gustavo Santaolalla - "Brokeback Mountain Theme (Gabriel and Dresden edit)"

Dave McCullen - "Bitch"

Beatfreakz - "Somebody's Watching Me"

St. Etienne - "Stars Above Us"

These are some of my favorite newer and recent dance tracks. All in all, this is shaping up to be a great year in dance music. I kind of thought last year was a down year, but so far this year, the new releases are awesome.

Blaze ft. Barbara Tucker - Most Precious Love.

Raindrops - Stunt (totally agree with John)

Lucas Prata - Wanna Be ( its on the album and I hope is the next single)

I have to say the Gabriel & Dresden Remix of Gustavo's Santaollala's "The Wings" from Brokeback Mountain because I didn't think ANYONE could come up with a way to remix this, and what G&D did, made the remix their own.

The same goes with Blondie vs. The Doors "Rapture Riders".

Echoing everyone's sentiments on "Raindrops" by Stunt. The Beat on Sirius has been all over this for a while, I've loved it since day one and I'm not remotely tired of it yet.

Kelly Clarkson - "Walkaway". The Craig J remix of this is phenomenal. I'm not even a big Kelly Clarkson fan, but my blood gets pumping everytime I hear this one.

Saint Etienne - "Stars Above Us." I love the 80's retro feel of this. C89.5 says this one has a "New Order" feel to it, I can definitely hear it in the bassline. Catchy tune.

Tiesto - "Music On My Mind". I guess what I like most about this track is the use of the bassline samples from Alan Parsons' "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You". Beyond that, the song is ok. Tiesto is gonna get love just because he's Tiesto... I'll deal with it.

Paul Oakenfold - "Faster Kill Pussycat." Very edgy and different. In the world of dance, that's a good thing. This is raw enough that I could see it crossing over to mainstream pop, but we'll see. Thanks to Starry-Eyed Surprise, at least Oakie has a little mainstream name recognition. Doesn't hurt.

The Presets - Girl And The Sea. I already have a thread about this elsewhere... so I won't say much else other than I can't quit listening to it. :)

Cyndi Lauper & Sarah McLachlan - "Time After Time" (J & C remix). These ladies sound great together. I remember it was not so long ago that Energy in Chicago was playing a remix of "Shine" by Cyndi and she was to release a new album, and then it never happened. I wish she'd consider doing a dance remix album. She still sounds great on the radio.

Craig David - "Unbelieveable". The Metro remix of this has been out in the UK for a while, I'm a bit surprised it hasn't caught on anywhere in the states yet. Better late than never? :)

Alyson - "Take A Good Look." Not sure why this one hasn't caught on bigger than it has. I favor the Randolph mix the most... I think this is really one of the better songs Alyson has ever had.

Stargazers - "Feel Good." Great house song. It's an import, so I don't know how "new" it is, or much else about it. Something to check out if you dig house music, though.

Cara Dove - "Freak For Love." Same goes for this one as the Stargazers track... import house tune, dunno how new, but worthy of attention.
