Listener's favorites:

Colbie Caillat's Realize...whoever said on this board that this song wasn't a hit, well.. it's calling out good and +525 this past week...

Lil' Wayne - Lollipop... i personally think it's a boring record, but the audience reaction is huge

Danity Kane - Damaged.... very catchy, and poppy, without the bubblegum feel.

Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love... this will be the #1 song of the year on the format.

3 Doors Down - It's Not My Time... gotten some pretty good reaction on it.

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl.... THIS SONG IS A HIT!

That would be me and I was right - I said this song would mainly work in medium and small markets, and so far most of the major market CHRs are avoiding it like the plague.

Colbie is cute and all, but her voice is nowhere near that of Jewel, the yodel queen :D
Colbie's writing ain't bad, but she's no Amy Macdonald.
Colbie's best odds are of becoming a mainstay on Adult Contemporary radio stations, if most of her songs are in the veins of boring and mediocre "Realize".

I'll post the youtubes later when I have more time but my favorites now are...

The Ting Tings-"That's Not My Name"

Scouting for Girls-"Heartbeat"

Hadouken-"Declaration of War"

Sam Sparro-"Black And Gold"

Raconteurs-"Salute Your Solution"

Duffy-"Warwick Avenue"

Royworld-"Dust"

Kid Rock-"All Summer Long"

Paramore-"That's What You Get"

3 Doors Down-"Its Not My Time"

Puddle of Mudd-"Psycho

for CHR??? ???

There's only two or three of those that I think you'd hear on a CHR...love some of the songs, like Raconteurs, but those are a little out there lol

Anywho, CHR songs I'm diggin

Mann/Sean Kingston "Ghetto Girl"

Plies "Bust It Baby"

Paramore "That's What You Get"

Panic at the Disco "Nine in the Afternoon"

Three 6 Mafia "Lolli Lolli Pop That body"

Spill Canvas "All Over You"

Duffy - Warwick Avenue

Amy Macdonald - Barrowland Ballroom

Speaking of which, I wish Amy Macdonald would get more US airplay.

Agreed. Amy's got an amazing talent. Another great song from her is "Run".
Her debut album peaked at number 2 in the UK, and stayed there for a while. She seems to be doing really well in other European countries right now: Her album is currently number 2 in Holland, number one in Switzerland, and number in in Denmark.

Yeah, I agree that many of my favorites are more than a bit 'out there' . I'd never expect to hear many of them on Z-100 or Kiss 108 etc. But then again, they are just my personal favorites.

The Raconteurs song is currently in rotation on BBC Radio 1, and so is Hadouken, Duffy, Royworld, the Ting Tings. That is the station that I most listen to, thus my very strange definition of 'CHR favorites' :)

Another favorite I forgot to list yesterday

the new Coldplay song "Violet Hill"

Coldplay rocks! 8)
Cartman, don't apologize for being a big fan of Brit Pop. BBC Radio 1 can be heard all over the US on Sirius Satellite Radio, as well as on Dish Network, in addition to their live webcast of course.
As you know, in addition to listening to loads of CHRs from the States, I also enjoy listening to CHRs from around the world.
You'd be surprised how many people from outside the US view this board...

Thanks Chrles. I almost exclusively listen to Radio 1 on Sirius when I'm at work. And they are playing the Pendulum song now. That one rocks!

Sometimes I feel that I'm missing out on the domestic CHR's. I can turn on my radio in my office and hear Z-100 and Pulse crystal clear, and at home I get Z-100 and many of the stations from Scranton,Allentown and Philly but I never seem to get around to listening much to them, since I have Sirius.

Now I'm trying to remember what station I heard the Puddle of Mudd and 3 Doors Down songs on the other day. It was either WZZO (rock) or WKRZ (rock leaning CHR)

The new Coldplay song IS awesome!! I'm definitely not dogging Brit pop and rock - my personal favorites are all a bit out there too, I just thought you were saying those were your favorite songs on CHR right now and I was wondering what stations they were on ;D

Sorry for the misunderstanding! Btw, anybody think the new Sick Puppies song could hit CHR? It's pretty mainstream...

Paramore Crush Crush Crush
David Guetta Love Is Gone
Feddie le grand Let me Think About It
Seether Rise Above This
Duffy Metrcy
Dj Laz Move Shake Drop
3 Doors Down Its Not My Time
The Anthem Pitbul
I hate hate hate Lollipop but everyone else seems to love it so Its a winner

I've already explained the appeal of Lil Wayne's "Lollipop" a few weeks ago when it exploded onto the Hot 100. The lyrics SUCK, hands down, but it's a slow tempo Hip Hop joint, and that my friends makes it stand out. Even though I'm lovin the recent trend in Hip Hop to go more dancey and increase the tempo, at the same time it also helps set the stage for super slow Hip Hop records. This particular one uses the kind of synth lines that Timbaland is famous for, and the production in general is good.
Let's just call it the guilty pleasure record of the season...okay shawty? ;) :D

Current songs I'm diggin':

"Bleeding Love" - Leona Lewis ... have been into this since this past December
"Bubbly" - Colbie Caillat ... so smooth... didn't think she would have something this good to follow up "Bubbly."
"Pocketful of Sunshine" - Natasha Bedingfield ... a grower. Wasn't as immediate as "Love Like This," but like it a lot now.
"Not My Time" - 3 Doors Down ... just a good record!
"Hollywood's Not America" - Ferras ... catchy, understated... maybe a littlle underrated.

I keep hearing this song that goes..."D-V-N-O, four capital letters". Really catchy. I like it. Not sure who does it yet though.

Others that I forgot to list

Flyleaf-"All Around Me"

Will I Am-"Heartbreaker"

September-"Cry For You"

Jennifer Lopez/Santana/Baby Bash-"This Boys Fire"

Fallout Boy-"Beat It"

Wyclef-"Fast Car"

Tokio Hotel="Ready Set Go"
