Favorite Songs You Never Hear On Radio Anymore

Here's a few...

Dio's "Rainbow in the Dark"
Rainbow's "Street of Dreams"
The Scorpions' "Lovedrive", "The Zoo", and "Animal Magnetism", though I may still hear "The Zoo."
Planet P (Project?) "Static on the Radio"

I can't think of one 80s Dio song, it goes "Crystal-l-l-l-l-l " near the ending.

The only station I knew that played the title track of Animal Magnetism was back around 1980 it was the 94.1 station in Albuquerque before it became KZRR.

For whatever reason, hard rock/ heavy metal seems to get blacklisted from classic rock.
As someone said earlier, Ted Nugent doesn't get much airplay, Alice Cooper has been whittled down to two songs, you rarely hear Rainbow, Pat Travers, The Tubes, Night Ranger, Whitesnake, etc...not that I'm a fan of some of those bands....I could live the rest of my life w/o ever hearing Sister Christian, but many that have been mentioned in this thread were huge in their time, selling out arenas, multi-million album sellers, but today if an alien were to visit our planet, they would tell you that heavy metal/ hard rock is AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Aerosmith....the rest are all but forgotten.
That's the problem when you have suits run the show....they don't know music, they know money, and don't give "their" listening audience any respect by throwing out the same useless crap day after day, waiting for the latest arbitron ratings, and will cut bait on a loser in a New York minute. It's sad to see some long time, well respected jocks being forced to play this crap.
I'm surprised some wacko music junky hasn't taken over one of these stations at gunpoint...."play Back in Black one more time and I'll blow your head off"..."and now for your musical enjoyment....here's Deep Purple, from Live from Japan...Child in Time".

Folks, I'm the station manager/program director for a high school FM in extreme western West Virginia. We play a large variety of genres, including classic rock. You've given me a TON of ideas...keep 'em coming, and THANK YOU!

I Just dropped in (to see what condition my condition was in). Did not hear it on the radio. Still havent in XXX years

Or how about Cactus. If those suits in charge of Classic Rock stations would ever just do research they would find a whole bunch of music that would sound new to almost anyone.

Then again they probably were never alive back then and wouldn't now a good unknown song if it bit them in the backside.

That would require discernment, something those soulless suits have no need of. And then again, there target audience, the audience of their conglomerate advertisers, are really seeking the masses, the masses without discernment, as they are easy marks, for their products.

It's a Huckster Show pure and simple, Nothing More.

You might hear it again, only if they program it as "First Edition" and they don't tell the 30yr old PD that It's "Kenny Rogers and the First Edition"......

Where is "Nature's Way" by Spirit?
"Bloodrock"- DOA
"I'm a Good Woman" or " Just Want To make Love To You" By Lydia Pense and Cold Blood
"Cottage Cheese" By Crow

i think there is more then one other spirit song enough to fill a double cd set with their highlight songs .however if you go by most classic rock station playliste there are no spirit songs.

You and others on this thread would enjoy the vintage rock format on http://boomerradio.com. It's all 60s/early 70s classic rock. You will hear Spirit and many other bands you haven't heard on the radio in a long time.
