Im gonna have to pick Slam Fm in Holland, and also RGR FM,,, and Mix FM in Lebanon which is actually Middle East/Asia....... Loca FM in Spain,,, Fun Radio in France, top radio in Belgium But Europe is so full of great stations I could never begin to make a complete list.

The Arrow, 675 am, in Holland is basically the originator of the "Arrow" classic rock format (all rock and roll oldies). They still execute it pretty well and pump a very listenable signal into Central London and most of southeast England 24/7.

In Holland, Radio 538 and Slam FM

In Belgium, the station showed up on my car RDS as 'STU BRU' (Studio Brussells??)

Listening to Radio 538 right now ;D
Studio Brussels is a very cool station. It's an eclectic CHR that leans heavily on Modern Rock.

When I was in Holland last year I listened to Slam FM from the time I left the airport until I lost reception of it somewhere around Amersfoort. I didnt realize then that they broadcast on 97 in Apeldoorn as well as 91 in Amsterdam. Then I listened to Radio 538. I'm probably going there again at the end of January.

When I drove down to Belgium, that's exactly what caught my attention about Studio Brussells, the rock edge to it.

I also regularly check the '50 songs' playlist on Italy's Radio DJ and the 'nouveautes' playlist on FunRadio from France. They have a new song by Kat De Luna on there, and "Ibiza" by Desaparacidos (sp?) that are both really good.

Next time you're in Holland be sure to check out Radio 3 FM. It's Rock friendly like Studio Brussels. Wild FM plays a lot of the big American hits, Fresh FM is a pure Dance station, and Radio Decibel is another Dance station to check out. All these stations can be picked up in Amsterdam (as well as some other cities).

With regards to Belgium, it depends on whether you're in the Dutch speaking part or the French part. Let me know as there's some great radio there. For example, you mentioned Fun Radio out of France, well there's also a Fun Radio in Belgium (same as the Fun Radio in France only customized for Belgium). There's also Radio NRJ (Energy) just like in France, in the French part of Belgium. Radio Contact (2 versions: one Dutch and one Frech) and Q-Music are among the most popular networks in Belgium. Top Radio is one of the biggest Dance networks in the Dutch speaking part.

Ive really been enjoying Radio Decibel,, that is Hollands newest Dance station, but its also Hollands first dance station. They first started in 1977 as a Disco station and they came and went between 1977 and 1985, they were usually on 96.2, but sometimes 96.0,,, there were no music stations on FM for young people in Holland at that time,,, The owners did everything to make it legal as possible, including registering the business and paying Taxes, the only think Illegal they did was operate on the FM band illegally. The station usually got busted anywhere from 2 to 4 times a year,, but they always cooperated with athorities, even having the staff help the Feds carry off the heavy equipment, and they always offered the authoritys a cup of coffee even as they were raided. You can read all about the Radio Decibel history, hear airchecks and jingles from back then, and read about their Rival station Unique FM, which did not cooperate with athorities and even went as far as to guard their Transmitter with a Fake Bomb once, and a Snake another time... Like 25 years later they were finally able to get the station legalized and got the new frequencys,, First it was on 94.9 in Ampsterdam only, but now its all over holland.. Thats why this station plays some of the older 70s and 80s dance tracks, because of their Heritage. The station had its Studio with a large 22 meter mast set up right next door to the local Police station, with a big DB on the door... The authorities didnt bother them much because they didnt try to hide or avoid them, and they werent breaking any other laws.. but anyway here is the Radio Decibel history site http://www.euronet.nl/users/repflug/decibel.htm I hope that link works,,, And here is the official site to listen to this great radio station http://www.decibel.fm/
