Favorite Terrestrial Dance Station in the U.S

What is your favorite Dance station in the U.S...... Mine is Party 105, it reminds me of how Rhythmic Dance stations sounded in the 90s, and is very similar to the old 95.3 Party in Orlando, except Party 105 is a little more dance friendly, and not so heavy on Breaks, though they do play alot of Quality Breaky remixes of POP songs. Aside from Party, I also strongly support all the school station's and Pulse 87.

Energy SF is a pretty good station too, they do good for their small signal and they have a very friendly staff.

Aside from FM stations, I think XMs BPM is the best Pure Dance station in the U.S, though BPM is probably too cutting edge for a mass appeal Fm station in most markets, it might work in Chicago though, cause it is similar to Energy 927&5, except Energy played a few, but very little POP hits, and some 80s and 90s flashbacks, even some classic New Wave stuff. If Energy 927&5 was still around, they would probably be my favorite Dance station, just the music selection, the high energy Jocks and imaging and cool name made the station very fun to listen to.

So I want to here from you guys, what is your favorite Dance station and why? I would really appreciate it if any you guys take the time to participate in this topic. Thanks guys. ;)

Dude you flip flop your favorite stations like someone changes their underwear. A few weeks back, Pulse 87 was the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel.

Yeah, I said I liked pulse alot too, but I started listening to Party alot online and it reminds me of how true Rhythmic's used to sound. Pulse has already changed their sound a little since a few weeks back, a little more POP Remixes now days, but they still sound good, plus I always have a strong support for the school stations, and I continue to not really care for Energy AZ as a personal preference, although I dont want them to change format or anything, we still need them for the charts. Lighten up a little Brett :), you have been kinda Edgy with both me and Tony the last few days, even though we try to show you and Kris support. That doesnt make much sense because a few weeks ago you were being very nice and supportive to me. ;)

You wrote this just a few weeks ago:

Definately Pulse 87 if they keep up the good work, and add some more currents down the road. Its right up there with Z88.9 and KHNC, my other two favorite Dance stations in the U.S. I like WMPH at times, but it just isnt quite my style of Dance, however it works for the market, so thats what counts. I also like Party 105, but there format is unreliable as they like to switch from Mostly Dance to Mostly Hip Hop every 6 months, this tends to tick off the hardcore dance fans. Pulse blows the doors off of the Energy Stations, im talking about the terrestrial ones,,,,, Energy 98 still kicks arse,,,, so does I-party. But Pulse, at this time is the best, and most mass appeal Dance station in the U.S,,, but like I said, Z88.9 is a close second, and would probably be tied if they were Dance 24/7 and had a HQ stream. In 2008 its important to have web presence and up to date streaming software,, Which Brett intends to improve shortly....Cant Wait. Wink

I honestly dont care but you ripped party for having an unreliable format. You sound like a sports fan that jumps from team to team to team.(typical Cowboy fan) Im not edgy, I had to do a little damage control down here because of what happened on the Philly board. I work or have worked with several people on the Philly board. I still moonlight at WIP. Its great that there is a lot of passion for this format, but we all have to remind ourselves that this is just a message board. This board is a little different than most because we are a small genre and you have 5 PD"s and 3 or 4 record label executives that read and post on it. But its still a message board and is not going to win over any major company to flip to a dance format. There are a lot of good things starting to happen and for the first time in a long time I can see light at the end of the tunnel. If you want to see change or see whats going on, come down to Atlantic City in August. I honestly believe next week is going to be a good week for dance music

That must be the first TV station added by Mediabase :)
It's great that Pulse was added, because that means more spins on the Rhythmic charts for dance music.

My favorite terrestrial dance station has always been Party 105, except when it was Party Hits. Z88.9's a close second, and Pulse87 a close third. It's hard to have a favorite terrestrial dance station, since there usually is only one dance station receivable in certain areas (or up to 3 where I am when the tropo hits).

They are also monitored by BDS, from what I hear. We don't subscribe but some pepole that do have told me that it's done.

Also, don't be suprised when they show up in Arbitron either. ;)

And look what was announced by Pulse today. :)

They signed a PPM agreement with Arbitron. Looks like we will be able to tell if the Tri-State is listening after all. I, for one, look forward to the results.
