Which do you like better? Star1007,969bobfm,Wish997 and bobfms sister station 929wltj?Mine would be 969bobfm why I just like the huge vareity that they play. They may not play that much new stuff but it sure beats star1007.

I totally agree with youngabe as BOBFM is the best variety station. I'm one the few that likes a radio station with trainwrecks.

:D It's like asking for a favorite in a 1-horse race. BOB is the ONLY Variety hits station in the Pittsburgh market, although I do listen to WLSW from time to time. Jocks suck there, but the music selection is more palatable than BOB. Also, try MIX 98.9 from Youngstown, they do their "Time Warp Weekend" much better than Star ever tried to do.

"BOB is the ONLY Variety hits station in the Pittsburgh market,"To be more accurate, BOB is the only station that uses a format that is designated "variety hits" by the official radio format naming authorities. The other stations mentioned in the launch post do play a mix of songs from a variety of musical genres. To someone who spoke English and who knew the definition of "variety" printed in the Funk & Wagnalls, but who wasn't a radio insider, it would be natural to assume that stations like Star, Wish, etc., that play a variety of music would be considered "variety" stations.

There is also Sam FM, which is out of Greensburg, but it only seems to tune in clear in Westmoreland county.
Sam is much better than Bob, better mix of songs, more obscure stuff and doesn't have all the cheesy "Bob used to go to West View Park" liners. You can pick it up in the east end of the city.Oh, and if you really want "variety" there's always 103.9 in Scottdale.

Star 100.7 does position itself as "Pittsburgh's Biggest and Best Variety". Although I find that slogan to be a total joke, I do perfer the station over Bob.
