FCC approves some allotment changes

Current class B 100.3 WIFE Connersville IN will make the move into Cincinati as a class A licenced to Norwood.

Current class A 100.9 WIZF Erlanger KY will slide up a spot to 101.1 keeping the same facilities.

Current class B 101.3 WFMG Richmond IN will downgrade to a B1 with a slight move in transmitter location to the northside of Richmond.

New allotment class A 101.1 Madison IN will change to 100.9 keeping the same transmitter location.

Basically these moves allows for a new class A signal with good Cincy coverage on 100.3 FM with WIZF sliding to 101.1 to make room.

Madison, IN allotment

Is there anybody with information on what may eventually get put here? I used to live in Madison and thought the area could use another station, especially for the people living in the valley on the river. Some places could only get a maximum of 3 city grade signals around the area.

From what I could tell it is a non-commercial allotment so that may limit its choices of formats

From what I gathered from the ruling, Radio One wasn't happy with the proposal to move "The Wiz" up to 101.1. Some sort of deal must have been made for them to look the other way. Perhaps Radio One will be the owners of this new property once Rodgers relocates it's facilities or at least LMA it. If that were to happen, Cincinnati would probably get an urban AC at 100.3 which could cause even more heartache for WCIN.

They did not make a deal with anyone, but rather the FCC forced the Wiz to change channels, in the public interest.<P ID="signature">______________
