FCC happenings in Waco area

I noticed that KUT Austin's plans for a new FM station on 88.9 in Waco got thrown out. Instead the FCC has granted a construction permit to American Family Association for a Class C2 licensed to Mart, southeast of Waco. The application, which calls for the station to operate with 50kW at 149 meters HAAT, was originally filed almost nine years ago.

Over in Moody, about halfway between Waco and Killeen, the FCC recently proposed allotting 99.1 for a new Class A station. It was acting on a request filed by Charles Crawford.
