The $25,000 consent decree and short-term renewal are new this afternoon. Those links were posted weeks ago.
I know $25,000 in the radio business is not a "make or break" number, but does Pacifica have the 25K or are they just going to jerk the FCC around for the next 6 months?
Maybe they can pay their back rent on their transmitter site while they are at it.The Foundation has been selling assets. They sold the KPFT building about a year ago, and also sold the Foundation headquarters in Berkeley.

If WBAI is evicted from 4 Times Square, could its next transmitter transition be to the old WNYE tower atop Brooklyn Tech? They also owe $150K for their current tower rent:

That section of Atlantic Avenue is actually in Boerum Hill.Or, from their studios on Atlantic Avenue in Cobble Hill.
Is that tower even still there on Brooklyn Tech? I was under the impression that it got taken down after the station moved the transmitter to 4TS.If WBAI is evicted from 4 Times Square, could its next transmitter transition be to the old WNYE tower atop Brooklyn Tech?

It's a non-commercial station. It can't run those for-profit ads that violate the rules for patrons of non-commercial radio. Why can’t WBAI use the programs that had the issues, if they think revenue will take a big hit from not using the programs, according to the RadioInsight article? They’re going to have a compliance officer that makes sure every program, host, etc. is following the rules, that’s part of the Consent Decree, so why not give the programs another chance?

Those follow the non-commercial rules. Gary Null and company do not. There's a lot of similar programming being done on some public TV stations, offering mind enhancement or memory enhancement therapies. This issue isn't really settled yet.
I did not know that. I thought all the public TV ads were like the ones with European river cruises! There's a lot of similar programming being done on some public TV stations, offering mind enhancement or memory enhancement therapies. This issue isn't really settled yet.
As Colin Jost said the other night, "an excruciatingly long six months."You don't play hide-and-seek with a federal agency just for fun.
Possibly they're buying time (renting it?). In six months is the election. A tolerant FCC getting indirectly proxy-elected would help continue the nominal treatment given to matters of less substantial urgency.
