FCC Rules subscription

Forever we have been subscribing to updated FCC Rules from Rules Service Company in Silver Spring, MD. Their annual renewal costs in 2011 were $44 for Part 11, $47 for Part 17, $113 for Part 73 and $65 for Part 74. They got gobbled up by Bloomberg BNA (Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.) who changed susbscribing and are now charging $340 for these four Parts and no a la carte if you want to downgrade. The 30% price increase makes renewing prohibitive. Besides buying the five 47CFR books available from GPO (which aren't up to date), what are others using to stay current with FCC Rules and Regulations??

All the Rules & Regulations are available online, and I believe they're kept reasonably up to date. Go to the FCC's main page and locate the "quick link" on the right side of the page to "FCC Rules & Regulations (CFR 47).". That will take you to the Federal Register/GPO site.

Unless you absolutely must have the latest rule revisions immediately (or you work for a communications law firm that must advise clients), this should be more than a sufficient reference.

A great resource for FCC rules that Harrold keeps pretty up to date and includes the old versions as well as the new (you select) is the http://www.hallikainen.com/FccRules/. Hitting it today, I see the rules were revised and updated as of Yesterday. It's a labor of love project for Harold Hallikainen that I use a lot.
