Based on the calculations I have seen, it will not make all that much difference in those sorts of circumstances. Perhaps in some spots where the signal strength is almost strong enough to hold a lock - the increase will result in fewer drop outs. But drive a couple miles farther from the transmitter and they'll be back.
Yes, the increase will expand the effective range of HD stations by a relatively modest margin (5 - 10%?), but at what cost?
