FEARNet To Become Cable Channel On October 1st

It looks like NBC Universal's horror/suspense channel Chiller will have some competition, though if Comcast's planned purchase of NBC Universal goes through, I suspect Comcast would rebrand Chiller into a different genre channel.

FearNet Seeks Basic Carriage

Eyes Oct. 1 Linear Launch Ahead Of Halloween Season
by R. Thomas Umstead -- Multichannel News, 6/21/2010 6:00:00 AM

Subscription video-on-demand service FearNet will look to scare up operator affiliation deals this summer for its proposed Oct. 1 linear channel launch.

The multi-platform service, owned by Lions Gate, Sony Pictures Television and Comcast, will launch as a predominately digital-basic movie channel in time for the 2010 Halloween season, FearNet president Diane Robina said.

Anybody know if FEARNet will be available on DirecTV and anybody care to speculate what different genre Chiller will be if the Comcast NBC purchase is approved.
