features/music you would like to see on k-rock

well weve got a lot of stuff back on k-rock which I think is awsome aka the call letters and the name.
Now these are features I would love to see back
92 Min Rock Blocks - those thinks Kicked Maximum ASS!
-OTL (out to lunch back)
- Retro Rock (I miss the liners saying it)
- SICK SIX at NINE or furious five at nine
- Move the 9'oclock riot to 10pm so it doesn't interfere with the older features
- special weekends, all request, hair weekends, retro weekends, LIVE weekends ETC
-Hard on: a heavy metal show Crazy cabbe did for awhile

Stuff that I wish could be added on k-rock
- Dee syders HOH (house of hair)... not a chance in hell tho with it on WDHA 105.5, WRKI 95.1, and WPDH 106.3/ 101.5 tho ( It just can't be heard in some areas of the metro area right now)
- a metal show that was like Fingers Metal shop or somewhat close...
the tour bus or Hard Drive?

Music (new) - played in other markets
- merilyn MAnson
-Mudvayne
-Nonpoint
-Soil
-static X
( several new songs by artists I missed that k-rock isn't playing right now)

HAIR METAL!!! - where is it? mix in a few songs
--- several other harder edged rock songs even if just later at night

Jocks
As many as we could get back, CAbbie, Julie Slater, ben Harvey, WILL Pendavis
I am sure we could get some back

-Me as a DJ - remember my freecast in the March of 06??? - you guys liked me lol
(hey I can dream right? feel free to criticise me for trying)
-OZ

- your feedback for anything I missed its much appreciated...

To make a complete rock station, the metal is fine as far as being included, but a couple of "Jam band" tracks like the station on Sirius or a speciality show featuring the live bands that play the "festi" circuit, U-melt, Moe, Widesprad Panic, Umphrey's Mcgee, would round out the rock spectrum. The genre is ignored yet has a nice sidze audience in NYC.

as I stated elsewhere, the roots of the NY rock scene(which led to the first wave of punk, and then grunge);
that would include at least one key track each from The Velvet Underground,The New York Dolls,Wayne(now Jayne) County, The Ramones, Cherry Vanilla, Suicide, and NY influencing Detroit bands Iggy & the Stooges and The MC5!
since these tracks never got the initial exposure they derseved when they were new, they'd be new(york) now to a new generation of ears, and they'd brand to the new K Rock instantly, adding a much needed 'cred', 'edge' factor!

OK, we'll look past the terrible spelling and tackle a few things.

A bunch of those bands you listed (Nonpoint, Soil, Static-X), just aren't relevant anymore. Nu metal is dead (Linkin Park being the sole survival and even they've ditched it by thise point). Manson and Mudvayne still have their followings but, popularity-wise, just aren't going to see those numbers. It's 2007, there's no way to survive just pumping the nu metal bands on the dial anymore. Hair metal? Please. Keep that crap on the Jersey dial and let us try to forget that awful period of music (that's akin to the Nickelback's and Hinder's of today).

When I was a teenager and listening to K-Rock back in the 90's, I used to DESPISE Retro Rock. Why? It's not that I don't have an appreciation for classic rock, it's just that, WE HAVE A CLASSIC ROCK STATION. I see you live in CT (I came from the same area) so not only did you have Q, you had 95.9 the Fox. There was always a lack of new music being played and retro rock would just take up more space on the already tight playlist. Completely useless to have now....

I was loving Out to Lunch during the later years of K-rock when they played 80's and 90's alternative music. <sigh> I wish I could have the K-Rock of '04 and early '05. Just as they were starting to go in the right direction some goofy (probably balding) sales guy had to go and say: "Hey guys! Let's go all trucker rock, ALL THE TIME!"

I agree that harder-edged rock songs have a place. Hell, just make the station an active station. It'll serve the Jersey and Long Island meatheads well that I already see at concerts. Kids who are into Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Arcade Fire, Interpol are already too plugged into the internet/myspace/purevolume/youtube, etc. to turn back to radio. But, then again, what do I know?
