The trends are in, at least the 12+, and AllAccess reports the top 5 in Buffalo in the three months ending 2/28 are, in this order, WBEN, WYRK, WBLK, WJYE and WKSE. 'YRK is starting to stage its annual post-January surge, meaning it'll probably pass 'BEN once again this year by the April trend report, only to ease back in the fall when the leaves start dropping. BLK gained a little, JYE was up significantly (which makes you wonder if that new imaging/positioning campaign is needed) and Kiss 98.5 was off just a bit, letting 'JYE pass it in the 12+ rankings.
97 Rock, WHTT, the Edge, Star and WGR round out the top ten, also in that order.
Star, BUF (#11) and the Lake (a weak 13th) are definite underperformers among the full market coverage stations. It'll be interesting to see which one (or more) of them gets a makeover this year if these trends continue.
We'll have to wait another month for the full winter quarter numbers to get a fresh measure of Rochester, since someone continues to demand that Arbitron embargo the Rochester monthly trends.
