February's ratings are out

La Mega's sister SBS station WPAT FM also took a dive.
Meanwhile, the rival Univision station X96.3, continues to rise.
Is there a significant difference between the programming of La Mega, and X96.3? They sound quite similar to me.
 
While in the CHR side, Now FM has finally gotten up from a 2.4 to a 2.8. Thats nice to know :)
 
It's weird seeing WOR tied at 2.8 with 92.3 Now and WPLJ, with their 913,000 cume in between the 2 million-plus of the other two stations... I wonder how much of that rating Glenn Beck is responsible for...

Meanwhile, WABC with its 4.4 is primed to return to the Top 5.

God forbid anyone would realize they did not encode for many days this month - which caused a 0 on those days - leading to their much expected lower ratings this month.
 
Incidentally, the last station listed on this month's New York PPM is WCAA - right behind WNYZ-LP. :eek:
 
When WCAA flipped to WQXR, didn't it not encode for a few days?

Is WNYZ/Indie Darkroom still encoding? I remember when Pulse changed to Party, they didn't encode for a month.

I knew it had to be something else. It makes no sense that they would drop that far, otherwise. Still, WPAT has been around the 1.4 level in the last months. It may because it's such a niche format that it can't go any higher.

If the encoding thing is what contributed to the lower ratings, then somebody at SBS should be reprimanded because it is costing the company money in ads.

SBS CEO Raúl Alarcón, Jr., made the decision to cease encoding all SBS stations in NY, Chicago, Miami, LA and San Francisco. Arbitron had to get an injunction to get SBS to encode again.

In the sales demos, it's over two and a half points behind #1, and lower than it was at the tail end of 2009... it's found its level, and a very good one. Their problem is not being able to convert ratings to revenue, as they were 16th in billings last year, despite the good numbers. I'm sure that now that the numbers are stable, they will work hard on the sales issues, too.

Its competition. Its seems X 96.3 is beating Mega, and badly too.

92.3 Now and Z100 play the same music style, look at their ratings.

you never lose man...now they are playing the same style..the question is who copied who? clearly mega is the copy cat....arbitron's numbers are not stupid..sbs did not encode for the first week of february, resulting in lower ratings........wxny was going to beat them anyway...
