24 years ago today, "Late Night With David Letterman" premiered on NBC. One of the highlights for that first show was Bill Murray doing an impromtu performance of the current Olivia Newton-John hit "Physical" with Paul Shafer and the band. Paul didn't say a whole lot during that first week.
______________

Re: David Letterman

Didn't Bill Murray also appear on David Letterman's last NBC show and first CBS show??

Yes he did. And he wasn't funny either time and he still isn't funny.

Tom Hanks appeared on the last first run broadcast of "Late Night With David Letterman", along with Bruce Springsteen. I believe Bill was also the first guest on Dave's short lived NBC morning show(June, 1980).
______________

I'm sorry for your inability to appreciate Bill Murray. But don't worry - there are plenty of Rob Schneider movies out there that might be more your speed.
